DJ bar? Too narrow for me, if you are going to go for the full vintage scrambles bar , it needs to be at least 850mm wide a la Surly sunrise....voodoo_simon wrote: ↑Thu Mar 14, 2024 10:59 pm Interesting bar from Cannondale

I take it it's the lightweight stuff? Outdry Extreme, "external membrane combined with an inner layer of soft fabric"; sounds like the heavier version to me. That does look the same stuff as on the lightweight 'Titanium' version, currently available for £157. https://www.columbiasportswea...

Hmm, hmm and thrice hmmmm.... Plus you don't have to fanny about taking it to a dealers to service... Anyone want to buy a Triumph tiger 800? Anyway, enough of all that, off oot West this eve for another weekend of drinking beer and woodland management. In a break with tradition the weather looks be...

Hmmm also. I see they do a hat as well. Thinking about it though, green isn't a bad colour for overtrousers and once they have got sprayed with gunge they will look OK.

Epic fail on the train front. I could just about stomach the £180 fair but there isn't a bike space on any service between here and there on either the Friday or the Tuesday. Sorry Stu, your event CO2 footprint just went up....

I was about to say any road ride in mid Wales or the Yorkshire Dales. 1400m climb per 100k is actually quite easy to achieve round here too.

A 20x20x6 slab = 5750 T and that's the size of the ones in my local hills. So 8000T probably about right for one in deep peat. Oh and concrete takes a load of CO2 to produce....

Sean, I'm swearing by Superstar rings - got one on the Straggler (surly cog and connex 8 speed chain) and it's lasted for ages - 2 years and a good chunk of miles in all weather (2 chains though). I also use a 26T one on the fatty and it too seems to be lasting for yonks. £30

Bloody hell, one of the things I like about that route last year was that it wasn't a complete mission (a la BB300 ) I see he has missed the railway line of headwind doom out and added the inclined plain. I think he was also going to try and remove some of the road riding in the forest.

Select the picture and hit the edit button at the top of the page (microsh*te in the doc / pic viewer) and it opens in paint. The resize button then allows you to reduce it to whatever you want. Sorry that's probably not a great description, doubtless you tube will have a better one...

Re: Proposed Wind Farm near Glaslyn
As for 220m turbines on-shore, it's bonkers, the civil engineering in the base is going to be huge I'm interested to learn more about that to increase my knowledge. At the moment we have the highest one in England just outside our town at 147m. Apparently it's also the most powerful, generating 4.1...
