Lookup a guy called Jerry Gore. He’s a Type 1 diabetic who has done a lot of big wall climbing in very isolated parts of the world. He often talks about how he manages being diabetic while at the arse end of nowhere.

I'm in. As the first to quit last year I've made the point of making sure I don't finish a week of night shifts the day before this year.

Re: Admitting in public to going bikepacking.....
I'm off tonight for a group ride with a load of enduro type folks, its always a good laugh, last time mountain rescue and a helicopter was involved and I had a go on a long travel e-bike I'm always being asked about my bike as its not like all the other colourful bouncy bikes (Krampus + rohloff), be...

Fantastic work Ian. Really enjoyed reading that and watching your blue dot. You're clearly a very strong individual both physically and mentally.
Epic, inspiring stuff.

I've done about 2000km now on my krampus and Rohloff. Absolutely love it, Pros -Idiot proof drivetrain, it just works. -Quiet (no chain noise ) -had no issues at all with it (so far) -oil changes is easy Cons -It's a lot of weight out back. My back wheel is the best part of 3kg Dually rim and chroni...

Didn't know Nevis sports, but it's the one above the deli and fancy curry house. It's a big shop so I reckon alpkits full range will be in it.

Re: LBS near stafford that stocks bikepacking luggage
Alpkit are renovating a shop in Hathersage in the Peak District, should be opening soon. Aparantly it's going to stick their full range of demo bikes and I would assume all of their bikepacking kit.
It's going to cost me a bloody fortune as it's about 200 meters from my house.

Re: Kids bikes
We have just subscribed to this scheme. £25 initially and then about £8 a month. When your kids out grows the bike send it back and get the next size up. It's quite a new scheme ( I think) so all the bikes they are sending out are brand new frog bikes but as it builds they will be sending out refurb...

Re: BareBones Fatfighters - The weigh in
If you're concerned about using BMI to track weight loss (for example if your built like a muscly gorilla) a good measure to look into is hip to waist ratio, I'm seeing it used more and more in patients notes at work. (I'm an ICU nurse, I don't help folks manage weight loss but I do see a lot of gas...

BB200 quitters thread.
Well, I'm now in Burger King in Oswestry eating donkey bollocks and chips on my way home. It turns out that finishing a string of night shifts a few days before a big ride is unhelpful. Bailed about 45 km in after pushing up too much stuff that I know I could ride. Gutted as the conditions wer...
