I'll chip in that I have the predecessor to the Deschutes as my solo shelter, also highly recommended.
Something like the Alpkit Tarpstar might also be worth a look.

Three of us were out in Friday's mega-deluge under my Aliexpress MLD Trailstar clone. It cost bugger all, fits into a 2l dry bag, only needs half a dozen pegs and a couple of poles. We stayed dry, could see the sunrise through the gap and can sit up under it so definitely not claustrophobic! 2023080...

They might have to rename the brand itself in case Salsa dancers or Salsa eaters get offended

The joke goes that American place names are either the first to get there or the last to leave.whitestone wrote: ↑Sat Jul 29, 2023 9:26 am In defence of my ignorance I thought that "Kanza" was diminutive form of "Kansas" rather than the name of an indigenous tribe from which the state was named.

Will if it's found that the Yeti feels offended. I'd be offended if I was a/the Yeti  Yeti (cycle, CO, USA) had "an issue" coming from Change.org; they (change.org) 'petitioned' to force Yeti to stop using the term Yeti "tribe" (owners group). I was just thinking about Ye...

Not sure about the new name though. No, doesn't do much for me either. I've always felt that Heyday is something in the past, giving the impression the bike is no longer at its best! Agree, this is a bit like when they rebranded the "Journeyman" to "journeyer". I don't mind drop...

When I got my Cutthroat Salsa hadn't coordinated the delivery of EXP framebags. Straight cut designs made me one that was a perfect fit. Ross had blueprints from Salsa for the Cutty, might have them for the Fargo as well.

Just sunglasses and not with a prescription lens?
Have a look on eBay, plenty of POC and 100% copies at a price that won't cause too much upset if ruined.

While I get the weight/bulk issue if the OP is only going to be rehydrating stuff then a jetboil that does the job of boiling very well with no faff isn't such a bad idea.

A bit like that bloke with the shavers, I borrowed one, loved it, then bought one! https://advntr.cc/wildcat-100-the-race-that-never-was/ If you're getting a second wheelset get a 650b one, the warroad can fit Senderos, at least as a 1x it can. 650b Ventures might be a good shout too for 50/50...

The Warroad spec is for 650b x 47 or 700c x 35 so 38s were always going to be a stretch...
I run 650b x 47 on mine so can't help on the 35 suggestions, but gravel king slicks in a 32 were always decent as are Hutchinson Fusion5 11Storm.

Haven't stayed in one for ages. My OH wouldn't be happy with "rough n ready" accommodation and the last time I looked at one a "proper" hotel was either the same price or negligible difference in price.

Not what you've asked but... I have the 50cm Redshift drops on mine with their cruise control grips under the tape. https://granfondo-cycling.com/redshift-kitchen-sink-handlebar-cruise-control-grips-and-bar-tape-long-term-review/ The wide tops probably aren't far off my first 90s mtb and the drops a...

Of course I made the school boy error of fitting them to check the fit and then add sealant. I have a new bottle of Stan's race or them and there is no way in hell I can now shift the bead to fill them! I'll have to go and buy some thinner sealant I can get through the valve with the core out. Seal...

Apologies if I'm coming across as a know all but aren't feather allergies very rare and it's the dust mites associated which with a new down bag in nylon is a low risk?
In any case, to answer your question, I have a Mountain Hardware Lamina that's brilliant and I was previously a down bag advocate.

Re: Cheap OS topo maps on a Garmin with no microSD card slot?
At the risk of revealing my ignorance, aren't OS Landranger (1:50k) and Explorer (1:25k) products *only* available as raster/image format, not vector. The OS makes vector products at those scales, but the cartography is quite different. No, I think you're right. I should probably have said that the...

Re: Cheap OS topo maps on a Garmin with no microSD card slot?
It’s a different question but has anyone managed to get the OS map file off one of these SD cards to be viewable on any app (either Apple or android) on a mobile phone. I am aware of the OS app but I was hoping to find an app which would allow me to view the OS files off the SD card whilst offline....
