Re: boring car insurance / closed road q
Technically you are uninsured on a closed road if there are signs up. You are OK if you need access to property /business most of the time, but it may only allow access from one direction only. As for rescuing your vehicle... There's a good reason the road is closed. I have been going through this r...

Re: Regular Peak District Night Ride?
3 artics stuck on the way home from Macc so didn't bother. This mornings ride to Castleton was good though. Over a foot of snow now, wish I had wider tyres, it was tough in places, a strange mix of snow types on ice patches near gateways. And then there was the lightning above Pindale, too close for...

Would like to try to get this week but have meeting in Macc at 4 and the forecast looks interesting! See how it all comes together.

Re: T/T ring? What chain are you using?
'u02sgb' my son uses the Wolftooth rings, very good, it is the direct mount SRAM type on carbon cranks. It's wearing well , clears well, only dropped chain twice since September last year but he rides considerably faster than most  . I will buy again if we don't get given them, which says a lo...

If you struggle with nav, it could be worth while doing a National Navigation Award. There is a guy at Tideswell in the Peak that runs them. If you want a contact let me know.

Re: Rolls like a Race King but sets up tubeless?
Specialized Fast trak, Schwalbe Racing Ralphs, on Roval carbon rims no problem tubeless. We did have issues early on last year with tyre damage, but we've been running tubeless for four to five years without issues other than that. We upped the pressure by 2psi which seemed to make the difference. U...

Re: Regular Peak District Night Ride?
Hi,
Although I've been a member for a while, I've not managed to get out to meet you guy's yet, which I hope to put right soon. I have the same considerations as above, although mine are slightly older. But this time I am working in the Cairngorms so will have to give it a miss. One day.

Hi,
Although this isn't up to date as we have an IT problem which will be fixed on the 5th Jan, apologies for this.

Re: Peak District ITT. developing one
Hi folks, My understanding is that the Curbar / Froggat route should be opening 1st April. The routes through Longshaw are ok now, that is the track just up the road from the Grouse Inn down towards the house and the track from the house up to the Wooden Pole carpark (White Edge). Also the short sec...

It's never worked for me on Firefox so never used it. I read this thread and just though I would try on IE11, Windows 7 and it works, great I can now start using it. Thanks, good luck to the rest of you.

Re: 92mm pressfit to BS threaded
As well as being aware of the wear to the bearing cups on Token BB's. Be aware that the likes of the CK and Hope BB92's don't always fit as the shell internal dimensions are not all the same, even on the same manufacturers frames. There are machined steps in some that will not allow the bearing cup ...

Re: Peak District ITT. developing one
Hi Blackhound and Ianfitz, I don't know if you are aware of the bridleway/rights of way developments on the Easternmoor's, Longshaw and the Burbage Valley? After the logging in Burbage, there should be a new route through the valley down near the brook, a legal development because of the logging. Th...
