Re: What bars are you using?
I got convinced that they are worth the money, so I dropped a scary amount of money on a carbon set at 710 wide and used with rigid carbon forks and a 2.4 ardent it is the most comfortable ride only real ruff stuff rattles the hands!

Re: BB200 Fast'n'light or Pack for a kip'n'brew?
I can't imagine doing such a big ride a week apart from another big ride. I'd never recover property in time. I'm no-where near as hardcore as you nutters though. Neither can I! Although I did the sandstone way as an over nighter the weekend before YD300 and it seemed to do me a world of good...

Re: BB200 Fast'n'light or Pack for a kip'n'brew?
I was in a lot better shape then Bob! Struggling to get decent time on the bike over the last 6 weeks as well, so struggling for form which showed up at kielder 101, I may suffer at YD200 I think. I only hope it puts me in a better place for BB200.

Re: BB200 Fast'n'light or Pack for a kip'n'brew?
I'm planning on going lightish probably similar to YD300 kit but minus a few bits as I feel I was carrying to much kit for that, but fairly sure I'll drop a food stop in for 30 mins if route permits without any detour, then again all plans might change after YD200 the week before!

Re: Whats lighting your ride?
I run a troutie liberator and exposure diablo mk1 just purchased an extra battery for both for the YD200 and BB200. Both been great just ran out of power too soon! Especially for riding 7 hours in the dark.....

Re: The post man's been ...
I don't think it had seen anything other than tarmac, on the canyon website they have warehouse clearance and ex demo stock for sale I've no idea why it was so cheap all the other bikes seem to have around 30% off, I guess I just got lucky!

Re: How's your BB200 prep' going?
Mine prep has vanished nearly! After spending all year structuring training for the YD300 it seems since then motivation has dwindled abit and time available has as well, I'm blaming the 3 hour round trip commute killing motivation on an evening and the missus being away for the 2 weeks on a trainin...

Re: Sandstone Way advice
I did this around 3 weeks ago, not a bad route lovely scenery felt like a lot of tarmac at times but it did help the average speed at times. I bivvyed above Rothbury which was nice. I started at 3pm on the Friday and was done by 11:30am on Saturday. At a more touring pace easy to do in 2 days. Plent...

Re: padded shorts advice
I used a pair of the dhb asv pro on the YD300 recently and found them to be really good on a long ride, I've also just purchased a pair of the red and white "the bibs" . Heard good reviews of them so thought I'd give them a try.

Re: YorkshireDales300
That was probably not the best event to start my ITT career , however it was great fun and I guess the training bivvy rides and WRT helped me be more prepared. Had a really grim spell from muker to the top of buttertubs its fair to say I don't think I'll ever go up there that slow again, cam Gill ro...
