Bravo. Was great to see you at the WRT and the Bromptons put a smile on my face, both at the time and reading the story.

Re: Bivvy a month 2022
April and May covered with the WRT. https://www.strava.com/activities/7086249461 Distinct lack of prep and throwing things together last minute meant I had a couple of punctures that I probably wouldn't have had if I'd topped my stans up! And after a bit of a moment sunday morning where it was like ...

Wow, this is still going, I thought the 24hr racing scene was dead! I did it once for the 12 hour pairs, in fact I think it was 12 years ago now. Managed 2nd place , won an exposure joystick! How times have changed! Really enjoyed it, had a good vibe.

Re: Bivvy a month 2022
3/3 So I'm not following the rules anyway given my February Bivvy was on foot and didn't include any bicycles. Therefore I'm just as much in the running as before doing my March Bivvy on April the 1st. It would have been far nicer weather a week or two earlier, but that didn't happen because reasons...

2/2 - not with a bike, so on the technicalities of the BAM thread I'm out, but for why I'm here (bivvy a month rules minus the bike bit) - it's all good. https://www.strava.com/activities/6680854980 Walking trip with a coupe of friends (who I first met through biking!). Hi All, I'm a bit out of practice, but I think I'm getting my Mojo back. Left about 2030 Saturday evening by the time I'd faffed. It had been a bit blowy all day, but had settled a bit by the time I left, found a spot in some local woods that I sorta think was mostly out of the way. It was about 7 d...

Here's the thread when we were talking about it 4 years ago...not much has changed other than it annoys me more and Greg 's opinion has evolved with further exposure to it.

https://www.shapeways.com/product/XF3QSGQSY/converter-for-garmin-gps-etrex-to-edge-mount I bought one of those. Not use it much - and managed to break it last week... (the small quarter turn mount tabs). Part of it may have been due to using a cheap out front mount with it - but the etrex is too he...

It's items like this that really makes me think I should invest a bit of time and money into a 3D printer!

I got my (late) mum a nitecore torch, uses a 18650 battery and then found the mount for the joystick/diablo worked really well. Tis all just a 18660 down the centre innit.

Is this a self made design Bob, or what did you base it all on? Photos/details of the connection points would be interesting.

Catching up with the forum again. I'm enjoying this thread, keep us posted Jameso. I've not got much to add that's not already been covered. Only thing I could think of is perhaps trying out the copper pipe (microbore/brake pipe size) to test a concept of an idea before you make a steel version - it...

with a custom plate (it would be, wouldn't it?) There does seem to be a correlation between having a vanity plate and poor driving standards. The worst are people with plates in black with white letters as they have an older number on a new vehicle, although I always thought the colour of the plate...

I must admit, like Bob said, I found the range of stuff they sold a bit strange. You havelarge amounts of cheap tat, next to proper stuff from Rab, Montane, leatherman etc. etc. I liked them, because round my way the staff were often actually outdoor enthusaists and if you ever spoke to one, they'd ...

Re: Remind me how to make the thinking mans crown race setting tool
I have some old henry hoover tube, with the plastic end - that works nicely for 1 1/8. for tapered and 1.5", I've used a holesaw on some wood to make the correct size wooden crown race setting tool and twatted that with an oversized tube so it's nice and even downward force. In fact - you can s...
