Post-WRT : The Twilight Zone
Sorry to start another WRT thread but this is about "after WRT", and I need some sage advice. I’ve always thought it’s not the case that the “lunatics” inside the asylum are looking out, but of course the real lunatics are outside looking in . In the same vein, having been away in the REAL...

Re: Kit Lists?
Yeah OCD here I confess. Don't do miles/heights/etc but like to know weights, as IanF says it helps to work out what you do/don't need. But of course the do/don't changes every trip. One weight that's easy to sweep under the carpet - apart from one's own carcase - is worn clothes. As I wondered in a...

Re: WRT Lonely Hearts Club 2016
Hi Scott, yep I reckon another taker here for "Plan B". I'm not quite as fit as I was - someone snapped me the other day on my way to the shops: http://i1296.photobucket.com/albums/ag14/chris_stevenson1/oldbiker_zpshbqphir1.jpg Would quite like to add in Barmouth Bridge if possible for the...

Yeah good point :-). Actually I've only just spotted the wellies. I'm presuming they're SPD ones. If not I'll have to switch to flat pedals. TBH I'm thinking of doing that anyway. BTW I think you're a fully paid-up LHC member Artie? Looks like Chew's kindly knocked up a "wimps [that'll be me th...

Oh. Sigh. That'll be the sandals, suncream, and corner-knotted hankie back in the cupboard then.
This'll be me instead I reckon:

http://www.extrawheel.com/en/3/bicycle_trailer/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ijnEr1kn98 (older style version but makes the point!) No contest. Super light. Brilliant cornering with a tight turning circle. Pretty much handles any technical terrain at any speed - doesn't get stuck on humps or rock...

Postie: Seam sealant to apply to mat to stop it sliding around. Don't want to end up under someone else's tarp by the morning. Well not unless I'm formally invited to of course.

“Spars In Their Eyes” or a WRT warm-up run Dunno whether this is “BAM” – have managed 3/4 Jan/Mar/April - or “Today’s ride” so I’ll just bung it here and hope for the best. Getting a bit worried about WRT ;-). Especially since I’ll arrive a day early with a toddle over from Caersws station via Foel...

Well I did ask didn't I . "enjoy or at least endure" - thank you, emphatically enjoyed of course. I had my suspicions a while ago that you are indeed descended from the Bard, whether Taliesin or Our Bill, or possibly both.

Re: Milk for tea when bivvying
Nice thread. Very important thread in fact. No milk = no tea. No tea = no ride. I'm trying to have a little bit more milk in my tea these days; with the dairy industry on its beam ends even a few ML a day helps eh? In the spirit of minimising weight, I'd like to explore the possibility of booking on...

The potential dogging aspect has been somewhat of an attraction.

"no one says, mi duck int' Peak District". Oops, there's me generalising my regional accents/dialects as usual. I was more Derby / Erewash Valley which admittedly even the most charitable man of the Peacs would decline to admit had anything approaching a "peak" .

Seriously impressed with feats like that. I'd probably manage it OK if you lopped off the last "0" from the name.
Ey up mi duck Stu, didn't know you were a Derby Ram. Good for you.

My, probably not unexpected by now, rejoinder is that I'd thought those privileges were already part of the LHC membership package :). Anyroadup, tx again, really looking fwd to it all.

Re: WRT Lonely Hearts Club 2016
An off-the-wall option is train from Talybont to Llandecwyn to cut out all that road. Well, I believe the "rules" are that anything goes so long as it's "open to every rider" :-). Someone delete my previous post pls if sticking routes up is frowned on, ta, although gawd knows how...

Thanks guys, will be great to meet you too. Bit busy over next couple of days but am trying to work out the mileage (or k-age if you're younger than me :-)) to take in all points. I've got as far as Trawsfynydd about half way round and am up to 100 miles already so I must be doing summat wrong. Tryi...

Thanks Chew, for your public-spiritedness! Am interested, as have no friends at all other than my trusty Orange P7. Luckily I can swear on demand, but unfortunately not in Welsh - maybe that can be rectified on this trip. In the best dating traditions, here's me: Aged 57 but a mental age of about 8;...

Grindslow Knoll, Dennis Knoll, Brown Knoll, Windy Knoll, Crookstone Knoll, Knoll Knoll (might be wrong about that one) .... (I'll shut up now ).
Maybe we should organise a PRT (Peaks Ride Thing(*)) visiting all the knolls in Derbyshire?

"favourite Peak District Knoll" - nice one Greg. Would that happen to be W*r Knoll by the way? (NOOOO not that word!) Nearly tried it the other day but went for J*s C*h instead cos of nearby stream. It's a long wall, HopeX to W*r K*l (I've worn out my star key now), is the whole length fla...
