Re: Peak 200 Group start 9 July

Just been for a quick spin and have bumped into both riders.
Javi was looking strong as we flew past each other in bamford about 25 k from the end.
Great to ride with you for a bit Bob. I hope you recover/rehydrate quickly.

It's a tough ride particularly this weekend.

Good effort.

Re: Peak 200 Group start 9 July

Sorry folks I've got to bail out.

We've got ourselves over subscribed with stuff to do for hathersage gala. Going to be spending tomorrow constructing a float to drag 15 toddlers around the village instead.

Have a good one.

Hiya Dave

Hope all is well with you.

Shame. Would have had this but I've already got my krampus now.

Would consider the wheel set + tyres.

Re: 'alt' bar advice.

Try some Mary bars first, only £20. I went from flats to Mary's now on Jones bars.
Mary's were great but I like the extra width of the Jones.

from the met office today

"Saturday 25th June
After a dry start, there is a risk of showers later in the day. Winds will remain light.

Issued at: 1617 on Mon 20 Jun 2016"

Given the recent weather, this sounds ace.

Re: OS Maps on your phone

I've used outdoors GB and parks for a while now. It was a fiver for all the national parks at 1:50000, works in airplane mode on an iPhone as well. Other areas you have to pay for e.g Wales at 1:50000 was about £8 I think. Don't use it for on the ride navigation (if I had a dynamo I would) but is ve...

I wouldn't change anything Ian. Can think of a few nice bits to add to it if you ever think a 300km route is needed!

Peak district 200

The peak 200 and I have history, I tried it a few years back when I was just starting to learn about this whole ITT malarky. It didn't end well, the old route looped around so that at about the halfway point you pass very close to the start. Quitting was too easy then. This time was going to be diff...

Re: Hydration bladder in a framebag

I tried this at the weekend on the peak 200. Didn't like it. Had to lean forward in to what felt like an awkward position to drink, could be fixed with a longer tube I suppose. The main issue I had was not having An accurate idea of how much water I had left. Could you put your bottle in a plastic b...

Shift work and training.

https://gearjunkie.com/great-tour-divide-bike-race-winner-josh-kato I've worked shifts for the past 10 years and I've always used this as an excuse for my piss poor stamina. I've just read this great little interview with last years TD winner Josh Kato who like me is a nurse and works night shifts. ...
