Is Sofiane going to try and do this in a oner?! Surely he's got to pay for skipping 2 nights' kip at some point

Re: Anyone wants a bespoke bike bag: TD fundraising for a fundraiser

Does anyone have an update on his plans? His spot is showing that he hasn't set off yet, so maybe taking a few days to regroup?

Christ! That just kept getting worse the more I read! Glad you're out the other side and on the mend. Hopefully, whatever your choices in the future re: riding will be down to you and not forced by physical limitations.

Re: Highland Trail 2019

Left it late with planning my possible re-supply stops. I see from past race reports that the Drumbeg stores opened especially on a Sunday for the front runners. Do people know if this is likely to happen again? Otherwise, it looks like Kylesku hotel is the only place that's likely to be open betwee...

Re: Cheeky camp spot near Arnside

Thanks for the info chaps. Sounds like the best option is around Arnside Knott. We'll be arriving under the cover of darkness and leaving early so it hopefully won't be an issue. Cheers.

Cheeky camp spot near Arnside

My gf and I will be driving up to Arnside for the Dales Divide late on the thursday (pre easter weekend). Does anyone have any recommendations for spots to wild camp? Ideally, it would be within walking distance of somewhere to leave the car as we'll be arriving pretty late and don't really want to ...

Racing. On the public roads. Are there not laws against that sort of thing? If not then there certainly should be. In fact, I wonder what Police Scotland might have to say about a couple of them.... Racing on public roads was banned for a long time in the UK, hence the popularity of time trials. Th...

Re: Inverness to South Wales

Thanks for the route suggestions all! With the slightly shorter borders section, and the route around Manchester, the overall distance has stayed the same but the amount of trail has gone up! :-bd I'll probably just end up flying since a) there's a direct flight from Bristol and b) it costs £80 inc ...

Inverness to South Wales

I'm after a bit of route advice from the hive mind: Due to health issues, my plans for this summer had to be cancelled so I now find myself in the unenviable position of having more holiday than I know what to do with. Racking my brains, I thought I would fly up to Inverness and ride back down to Br...

Re: This Is Not A Tour - new Audax events in memory of Mike

I just wanted to say thanks to all involved in the organisation. In addition to the riding, the post-ride food, drinks and general vibe surrounding the event really made it a weekend to remember. The route choices offered something for everyone to get stuck into and challenge themselves - a fitting ...

I'm probably being a bit dim here and the info is out there somewhere, but what's the situation for camping on the Friday night? I'll be turning up with a car so is there somewhere I can leave it for the weekend?

Re: Cairngorms loop in April group.

Well done everyone who got round! I had a wrist issue flair up so decided to turn for home instead of heading up to Glenfeshie.

I attempted to ride across the Geldie at the turnoff, stalled halfway across, failed to unclip, then had a lie down in the river! That sealed the deal on the bailing out!

Thanks for sharing Ian. A couple of years ago, I lived in a house for 4 months with a live-in landlady who had CFS. It was soul destroying to see how little she could manage before having to spend days sleeping just to recover, and made me appreciate just how lucky I was to have my health and be abl...

Another one to add to the list for next year. Looks like the route includes quite a bit of road and gravel (no mention of trails) so perhaps one for the cx bike. It would be interesting to see how this compares to the Torrino-Nice

Definitely interested! I walked the HR about 7 years ago and remember it as one of the best trips of my life. I also remember that it's rather steep in a lot of places!
