The bearings themselves are same size in bb30 and pf30. 6806 if I recall correctly. The adaptors should work in both absolutely fine. Just a case of getting the spacing right so as to not overload the bearings.

I'm pretty sure 29+ won't fit in the rear, but why not keep a regular 29er tyre in the back seen as you have the rims already?

I had a run of Conti trail tyres (mtn king, X-king) from customer and myself split at the bead like that a couple of years ago. 6 I think in 2 weeks or so. I believe Conti has reinforced them is this area since but maybe not.

I'd run the current xt shifter, but go with which ever 11spd derailleur your budget will allow. You'll never notice the difference in performance with the different mechs.

Been trying to find out what the standard spec battery in the 800/Touring is, just to find if there is anything out there for it. I've replaced the battery in my old 500 easily enough so I should be ok with this.

Has anyone here replaced a battery in a garmin edge for a higher mAh battery? I guess it should increase the length of use on a single charge, but am I presuming incorrectly?
