Re: Bargain Alert Thread

Bugger, wish this had been posted yesterday before I ordered an alternative slightly heavier and slightly more expensive down jacket for bike packing duties.

Re: Torino nice who's doing it this yr

Think I've settled on flying back on Tuesday 11th. That gives me 8 days full riding and as it's a late flight back on the 11th I've got a bit of a contingency of an extra day if needed or a bit of sightseeing at the end. Plus the flight back is a bit cheaper on the Tuesday. Probably get that booked ...

Cheers all looks like 7/8 days it is then.

Chew - thanks for the note about bike boxes at Nice. That's good info to know.

Re: Torino nice who's doing it this yr

Right I'm currently agonising over how long this is going to take me so I can arrange a return flight. Ideally I would like to do as much of the full route as possible. I'm no racing whippet and I don't want to spend the entire ride clock watching and will want to stop to admire the view, take photo...

Re: Torino nice who's doing it this yr

Received email here as well. Room at Tomato hostel was already booked. Flight to Turin booked, just need to decide how long I think the ride is going to take me and then book flight back from Nice.

Re: Bargain Alert Thread

Summit to eat 30% off freeze dried meals Ends 31/May/2018 So did anyone else take advantage of this offer and not receive their order? I ordered a couple of items on 26th April and still haven't received them. I've sent an e-mail chasing up but not had any response to that either. Just wondering if...

I remember seeing one of those on the ground somewhere!

Another great weekend and good to chat to a few people on the way round or at various stops. Aching a bit today!

Re: Torino nice who's doing it this yr

Planning on doing it this year. Time booked off work and I've also booked a single at the Tomato as well. Not booked flights yet as I've not really thought about how long it's going to take me. I've signed up to the email intent list but prior to it changing, I've not had any info since but been kee...

Re: Bivvy a month 2018.

Managed BAM #1 last week... completely forgot to add it here. Just an extended 17 mile commute home via a pretty uninspiring route but it served it's purpose of getting me to my chosen bivvy sport for 9pm. Only a couple of miles from home and the city, so if things turned pear shaped at least I was ...

Re: Rutland water

Rutland Water is fairly local to me and ridden round it several times as part of a bigger ride. Not really thought about bivvy spots when I've been riding round but I'd say probably somewhere on the Hambleton peninsula might be your best option.

Tempted to give this a go this year for the first time. So newbie question... can you use the same bivvy location more than once?

I'd be interested if another group buy goes ahead.

Re: The 1st Torino-Nice Rally, anyone?

Been lurking here for sometime and It's been great reading everybody's thoughts and plans. Certainly looking forward to hearing how everyone gets on. Gutted that I am not going to be able to do the ride this year due to not having enough holiday left to get the time off work. Definitely on my list f...
