if only I had the guts and stamina/knowhow to try and even contemplate making one of the entry criteria for that madness!!.... Maybe one day... Look at the nutritional information panel on the food items.
Fat has the most kcal per gram, but unless you are used to eating lots of it then
You should be able to get 4000kcals per kilo of weight.

With a stove? Dehydrated meals. Easy to home make these if your oven goes down to 50c.

Re: Yay, it's cheery Friday.
Apologies, I realise it's not yet Friday but I'm still cheery - decided that while the chainsaw and axes were out I'd split my big Yew log into staves. Yew can be a bit funny but this behaved and I'm gad to say there's probably 4 bows living in there ... and that's over £500 quids worth in the pict...

Re: Looks like another loop bar coming
I heard Brant do a 20 minute talk about bike design. It was actually quite funny.
But I do remember one slide which was a page from very old handlebar catalogue. He said something along the lines of ‘and this is what I pick from and then claim it’s a new and shiny idea’
At least he was honest!

I do find the early morning dog walkers way grumpier and less likely to return a greeting than the evening ones.

Maybe to an extent, and given Dave’s insistent I’ll say yes.Alpinum wrote:To power the devices through which more expensive bikes and other gear can be ordered.ianfitz wrote:discrete solar panel to provide a small amount of 12v power.
But also a bit of lighting etc.

Re: The money no object thread
All you time hippys can get off my capitalist money grabbing thread right now. I’d also like multiple Gore Shakedry jackets so I could ride them near thorns and not care about holes. And maybe a full set of Revelate bags. Ok then if I must. I’ll take a private Bothy in Wales, Scotland, Cornwall and...

I'm going along with the 'time' angle. Really, each new shiny bauble takes less time to pall than the previous one. I pick up the odd bit now and then but faaaarrrrrrrr and away TIME is the best currency I've ever spent. For example, 11 year old BP machine, does the job, and the pleasure is in the ...

I’ve got a set of the Shimano fully hydraulic ones. They are spot on and so far have needed less bleeding or attention than the Mtb versions.

I do. Lots of people seem to take themselves seriously though.
It’s just people init. Some of them are sound. Some of them are wankers.

WTD: cheapish calipers and levers
I’m building up a bike for a skint friend from my embarrassingly large pile of spares. I’ve got pretty much everything apart from brake levers and calipers.
Going with flat or jones-a-like bars.
Does anyone have anything kicking about?

I don’t know about those rims but land cruiser tyres will go up tubeless and are very tough but still fairly quick rolling. I used a pair tubeless for the three peak cyclocross, along with a large proportion of the field too(!), and they were spot on. They will be going on my commuter once I decided...
