Re: Yay, it's cheery Friday.
Just ordered a pinion Broken Road with a Gates belt drive. Hoping it's ready for the WRT. Nice :-bd - - - Saw a Honda NSX today out on the roads, don’t see many of those about. Also, got a free pass on Sunday - so just trying to work out either a mountain day walking or heading to Anglesey beach cr...

Re: Similar but cheaper (rear rack content)
Thanks for those suggestions. Maybe the idea of three mounts on the rear isn’t as good as I’m thinking it to be Is it not more metal bits to break Simon? I'm not getting stuff like that - looks a right faff to unstrap those bags - I'd just use a set of Ortleib front panniers on a normal rack That’s...

Re: Yay, it's cheery Friday.
Just partaken of a pleasant luncheon. Chatted with my pal at the Council about how he's going to spend the £1m we managed to wangle for new cycleways and footpaths around the town, so that was nice. Hope you put that on the expense account  He bought me a pint  . Seems a good deal on h...

Re: Bargain Alert Thread
Interesting bar from Cannondale Interesting because the crossbar stiffens it makes it less comfy while also being too thin for mounting things to? : ) I suppose it'd be useful for stabilising a bar bag strap. And £15 is a good price. Interesting because I wasn’t sure what style to call it

Re: Older school gravel cx options?
Kinesis used to do a couple, forgot their names though a few friends had them, seemed quite nice
My memory is hazy but Cannondale may need the wheels redishing to sit correctly, so maybe a brand to avoid?
Edit might have been Kinesis Crosslight?

It’s just the under side that is the sticky side. Use it upside down and you’ll see what I mean…Bearbonesnorm wrote: ↑Sun Mar 10, 2024 1:39 pm If silicone sticks to just about everything, why will just about nothing stick to silicone?

Got some socks from the Bananna Industries link the other day, feel nice in the hand. Hopefully I’ll never need them  Also got a flask from the same place, was £8 instead of £20, so going to keep that for summer use only and put water in it on day rides/walks. It’s 900ml so was expecting someth...

Re: What are you reading now?
Currently reading Columbia Es Pasion by Matt Rendell, the story of Colombian pro cyclists with a bit of a history of that country too. An interesting read, but I feel there's quite a lot of unnecessary detail (here are the names and ages of the siblings of a rider that didn't quite make it as a pro...

My ride was so bad today with mud that I swerved via the garage on the way home to use the jet wash (on the low pressure setting)…

Didn’t realise how bad muc off lube was until I recently switched over to Peatys all conditions (I think that is what it is called - it’s half clear half blue liquid). Night and day difference, impressed with Peatys stuff

Two on the go at the moment Alistair Humphrey’s Local Basic premise he goes in search of what is local to him in his OS map, bit like an analog veloviewer (and very similar to my OS map colouring project!). One poor chapter so far but was easily skipped but some interesting history stuff in there. W...
