Re: s'bag compression
I have a 15L Ortlieb handlebar pack. iI tend to put an extra twist on the closures so I guess around 13L. My Enlightened Quilt which is rated to -1 goes in and fills half but I then get my Rig7 tarp with pegs etc, Borahgear bivy bag, large Neoair Xlite mat with mini pump in. Then in go my warm hat a...

Ah Pickers that is harsh news. Now my understanding is somewhat rudimentary but normally it is considered ok to exercise with Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy, within reason, the advice not to being more based on legal concerns rather than medical. So an E bike and a relaxed approach could see you knock ...

Just been to visit the old Mum and was chuffed to find 3 parcels...
A very nice BB top - Love it, fits great
Saddle for my new HT build
and the final bit of kit for said build, a swanky dropper post lever.
The build can begin... so excited I let out a little bit of wee.

I have spent many an hour being regaled with stories from my Mum about how her and 'your Auntie Joan' rode around Wales, then Norway and later how her and my Dad honeymooned riding around the Austrian Alps. I have tried to get her back on an e bike but she doesn't fancy her chances in the SE London ...

Sadly I'm not going to make this... the close proximity to Crimbo means I have 'do's' that I have to attend.
I'd much rather be swanning about in the dark with you lot.
Tim, we will catch up sometime....

Make sure you know where the taps are, first one is some way in if its hot... the farm shop opposite sells some cracking ice cream.

I have the Neoair X Lite pad in large, use a quilt and 2 inflatable pillows. The second pillow goes between my knees, I'm a side, semi fetal sleeper. This combination allows me to move around and find a comfortable position.... never sleep as well as when out. I will say that getting off the ground ...

I'm in... think there were only 9 entries left so I was unlucky!
Did I enter a certain distance? No idea.
No idea about badges either, all I know is I'm going to hate large chunks of it but I'll sign up for whatever hairbrain, sadistic event Stu dreams up next.

I'm looking at either a it or xc type fs for the trails I have locally plus a bit of bike packing. Sure you have suspension units and bearings but on a well maintained modern mtb there's nowt to worry about. I cover approx 3000 hard miles a year and only give it a full tic make over once a year. A b...

Re: a tale of 2 plus bikes.
As an advocate for cycling in all of its many guises I often get asked what bike, what spec, what this, what that... It's pretty simple really but not always easy to nail.... if it fits and you like the colour, you stand a good chance of loving it. Currently about 2 years into deciding what trail HT...

Good thinking that Bob...
I just checked trains again and I can actually do it pretty easy.
Now all that is needed is self restraint and motivation.
Doesn't look great on either of those fronts!

Best way back to Knighton from Dovey on BH Monday
I a mildly debating doing the TCW early Monday, depending on how the predicted hangover from Saturday night goes. What is the best way back, is it to suck it up and ride? That idea fills me with horror if I've just pedalled my arse of getting there! Trains seem convoluted and still leave me a pedal....
