Re: Bivvy a month 2015

Haven't managed to get out this month... Tonight is my last opportunity.

However, I'm going to a rave on the other side of London. If I cycle there and then sleep in a park/on a bench/ in a bus shelter on my way home, does that count?

*I'm probably not going to do this, but it had crossed my mind...

Re: Highland Trail 2015

Thanks for the replies. I certainly don't want to have to end my riding day early due to lack of light. That would suck. Especially if feeling good to carry on mentally and physically. I currently have one of those cheap Chinese cree lights. It's been going for a couple of years now and never let me...

Re: Highland Trail 2015

Hi all, Quick question for all those that have already experienced the HT550... There seems to be approx 17 hours of daylight in May (for Inverness). I'm just wondering how often you used your lights for riding? Basically just trying to figure out if I need to invest in some lights with a longer bat...

Off to my local mountain bike trails in Surrey. Meeting some DH and dirt jump types... failed to repair mountain bike last night so I'm on my CX bike. Going to be interesting. At least I left the lycra at home today...

Re: 'Adventure' reading list

Some great suggestions here. Waiting for a copy of the Millican Dalton: A search for romance and freedom book to arrive in the post and started reading Paul Howard's '2 wheels on my wagon'. Its about a novice cyclist dreaming of bigger things who decided to take on the Tour Divide. Enjoyable, easy r...

'Adventure' reading list

Hi all, thought it might be good to start a reading list of all your favourite 'adventure' and outdoorsy books. I have just finished reading View From the Summit by Sir Edmund Hillary, a great read detailing his life and achievements. Particularly interesting chapter on media relations and controver...

Re: Todays ride

Had a nice 40 mile road ride out to harrisons rocks near tunbridge wells yesterday, met some friends, bivyed, did a bit of climbing this morning and then cycled back again. Drinking tea now and pondering tomorrow's ride... See where the wind takes me I think...

Re: Tuscany Trail 2015

Purty, I am 99% sure the medical certification requirements apply to Italian nationals only. Might be worth checking though. I plan to enter later today. Looks like a great route and the promo vid has certainly worked it's magic on me. I just hope all those little Italian towns we pass through have ...

Re: GPS devices

Garmin Etrex 20 here. Bought as a recommendation. It's been great so far, about 3 months and 600+ miles. Definitely use lithium batteries. To give you an idea I did the BB200 with it and lithium batteries, took me just over 24 hours and the battery indicator was still showing full. I tried it with a...

Hi all,

Planning a ride this weekend to incorporate moel prysgau bothy. Ideally wanted to do about 100-120miles over the Saturday and Sunday.

Just doing my route planning and don't know the area very well at all. I was wondering if anyone has any good route tips?

WTD 29er On one scandal (or similar)

I'm after an 18" (ish) frame to build into a fairly light bike. Ideally with changeable dropouts (singlespeed/geared) and a tapered or 1.5 headset.

I really like the on one scandal...

Anyone?

WTD Turbo Trainer

I'm after one of these devil machines for a spot of winter training. Does anyone feel like selling one? Cheap and cheerful ideally...
