Re: Tarf Hotel
Thanks chaps, may very well give it a bash! I'm in :-bd Always fancied this My thought was to keep on climbing up the double track right up to the top of Braigh coire na conlaich and drop down from there. Happy for you to tag along if you want Phil, I'm planning a Friday lunchtime departure from Bla...

Tarf Hotel
I've a few days holiday to use up before the end of the year so I've managed to bag myself a couple of long weekends next month. How easy is it to get to the Tarf Hotel from Blairathol? It looks like a fairly easy track up Glen Tilt and then not so good for the last couple of miles. Basically is it ...

Re: Newbie
There's a regular flow of traditional tourers going along the south side of Loch Tay when we are up there, never see many bikepackers though. I have seen a couple of groups with soft luggage cycling up Glen Ogle which confuses me as there's an vaguely exciting cycle path on the other side of the Glen!

Re: LNT campaign, 'tis coming.
Fantastic idea :-bd Perhaps a leave no trace patch is in order? It would allow individuals to publicly show the follow the principles of LNT and perhaps encourage some discussion with others who see it as well as raising some funds to go towards further development and advertising? It would also go ...

Grabbed myself a pair of the Aldi specials whilst in getting a couple of the moon style lights. They seem to be well fitting and of reasonable quality, I'll see how I get on with them. Hopefully they see me through to pogie season

I'm in the market for a new front light since my Hope R4 has shat the bed for the forth time now, it's great they keep fixing it but it really shouldn't need fixed! Are there any decent alternatives to Exposure? I'd like something cable free, thinking of the Toro at the minute as the MaxxD is way to...

Beer packing, that's something I can get onboard with! Perhaps one should bring a packraft for easy navigation of Venice's canals though?

How about something like this? https://www.gpsies.com/map.do?fileId=ryreagmtmbcunqje Park at Dalwhinnie, potential resupply (read pints) in Newtonmore or Kingussie, overnight stop at Phil's suggested bothy (if I've placed it correctly?) and then a shorter route back to the vans in the morning.
