Re: Should I go to Scotland or Wales?
Back in the room! Sorry not been posting for a while as ive been up to my neck in it. Decided to suck up the journey time and go to Scotland. I know i won't regret it although not looking forward to being stuck in the car. All i have to worry about now is midges! Think we're going to follow the cair...

Re: Clips or flats?
Bit of everything for me. Spd sl on the roadie, flat/spd on the 29er and flats on the full sus. Kind of given up on spds and mostly ride with a pair of old walking boots which worn with seal skinz and overshoes are pretty good and keeping my feet warm and dry. At first i may have been preocuppied wi...

Should I go to Scotland or Wales?
Looking at a week away on the bike, I'm after loads of wilderness and off road. I love Scotland and have not been for a number of years so I decided it was about time I do it again. Was thinking of the Cairngorms Loop at a leisurely pace and maybe so randomness on route. The only thing that's puttin...

Re: Attaching cages to suspension forks
I used the Elite mounts on my sus forks and they were fine on my last trip.
I also picked up some rubber mounts from Decathlon when I was in there a couple of weeks ago. Not tried them yet though.

Re: South West Bivvy?
So a couple of mates and I are riding the quantocks in a couple of weeks and I need to know about the terrain. Will a plus size 29er rigid work or shall I take the 26 with 159 front suspension. How gnarly are dem hills? As gnarly as you like it. There's something for everyone, from tarmac to DH tra...

Re: Bike for the lil' lady.
+1 for the Pinnacle. I just picked up a ramin 4 off eBay for £400 saving myself about £360 off new. Been ridden 4 times and looks like it jus came out of the shop. For some reason there is a steady stream of them on ebay in a near new state. I wonder if people buy them on the ride to work scheme the...

Re: Todays ride
£4.90, that's nearly East Devon prices!
Nice run off the top of Dunkery on the eastern side but I agree, other than that a bit something and nothing. On that side I much prefer the Quantocks, some lovely pixie trails up there.

Re: Punctured dry bags
Thanks for all the replies. Just put some gorilla tape on for the time being. Might pick up some tenacious tape and give that a good. Looks like good stuff for doing fabric repairs. I have another bag and a coat that I could use it on so although it's not cheap it may prove to be the most economical...

Punctured dry bags
What are people doing to reliably fix dry bag holes? Specifically alp kit bags if that makes a difference.
Thanks

Re: Isle of Wight Routes
I had to dig to find that on their site! I assume that 's a general t&c applied across all their services. I was looking at the Coaster service that has been specially adapted to carry bikes. http://cycleseven.org/wight-bike-bus Guess there is no reason why a grumpy driver couldn't use it to ref...

Re: Isle of Wight Routes
Perfect
Does look good, loads to do. We normally do an end to end route so have to get to the destination in time, it will nice to be able to bumble around at a more leisurely pace.
They even have a bike bus service http://islandbreezers.islandbuses.info/island-coaster/

Re: Isle of Wight Routes
Hi Thank you, that's really kind of you. Completely forgot about the Lymington Yarmouth crossing so that's another option. Will pm once I've worked out the details if that's ok. What's the road/traffic like coming off the Itchen bridge on the Soton side? My daughter is only 8 so it's very uncomforta...

Re: Isle of Wight Routes
Been looking for a route for my easter trip with my daughter, this looks ideal. Couple of questions if i may. What ferry did you get, do they take bikes on the fast cat too couldn't find it on their site? Any ideas for safe parking for a few days, the recommended car park is more expensive than the ...

WTD sus fork for child's bike - 26" v brake.
I'm after a cheap light suspension fork for my daughter's frog bike.
26", qr and needs v brake bosses.
I'm thinking something like an old skool rockshox sid or similar might fit the cheap/light criteria.
Anybody have anything that may fit the bill?

Re: Route repository?
I think it's a good idea. You could argue that it removes the element of (wait for it......) "adventure" but people are always forthcoming with route info when asked so no real difference there. It would stop that info getting buried in the bowels of the forum over time. I was thinking of ...
