Re: Stan's ZTR Crest Rims

Did some research evidently I'm not the only with major issues fitting Geax tyres ZTR rims, some stuff on Twentynineinches.com

LBS had Crossmarks in stock, so the bike should be quick, but lethal in anything wet and rooted :?

Hi,

The Fastpack makes the whole of the interior usable, it's one of these

It's only been test pitched.

Stan's ZTR Crest Rims

Well it seems Geax tyres and Stan's rims are a bit of a dog to fit together. Anybody running these rims, if so with what tyres?

FS: Alpkit Pipedream 200 Pied d'Elephant

As title, unused, this was bought a few years back and never used. Basically it's the lower half of a sleeping bag, you use your duvet jacket on the top half, allowing smaller pack size and lower weight. Bag is black, and has zip around foot box and nylon gilet for top half. Fill is 200g of 750 EU f...

Re: Highlands

Seriously, it was fun! It was the most fun, I'd had in years, I mean the episode with the gull is still making me chuckle. The midges are forever Type 3.

The thing I'll take away from the WHW, were the people and their friendliness.

Re: Highlands

If I went back I would pre book pods, and cycle between them, you could make the trip much better. It would cost a little more but a lighter bike would be faster and easier to carry. As for shelter, I have spoken to a supplier stateside, and they are currently constructing a shelter to my design and...

Re: Highlands

Speed! It's a climb-a-bike for hours! I was so knackered I could barely lift the bike towards the end! Suggest if you want to bike pack for days out there, lift a lot as training, the ladder onto the bridge was a sickening moment! I had a hikers hut in Tyndrum, turned the heating on a shook for two ...

Re: Highlands

I'll be back, but would never take a loaded bike through the Loch Lomond section ever again! It's just so soul destroying, a 12 step ladder up to a bridge with a 50lb+ bike, and backpack :o The gates are insane 'kissing' gates that are 10ft high! 5 step stiles?? https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Uv...

Re: Highlands

Bailed, I awoke on Saturday morning and set off in high wind and rain, it just got worse and I was freezing! Got home late last night. Covered in midge bites, I look like a really good dose of measles. The midges sent me mad, words cannot describe how depressing a tent filled with midges really is. ...

Re: Highlands

1993 Scapa is a fine drink! Trying to decide which way to go? The terrain has ripped the studs out of my bike shoes, and the ratchet is dead! Looking at the positives the cold and wind has finally made it midge free :) Also think 'Tablet' may be one of the finest energy foods I've ever had!

Re: Highlands

NE Loch Lomond is unrideable hell, over 300 midge bikes, they got through the weave of xbionic! Trails are unrideable, push up and push down! Had 8 hours sleep in 3 days! Now suffering shakes from adverse conditions, gales and sleet! Holed up in a hut, sodden and frozen! Weather doesn't look promisi...
