Re: Recommend me a quilt
I've got a Cumulus 150 and 350 ... both very good and I believe the newer ones are wider which is much better. A custom Enlightened winter quilt which is also lovely but probably far too much for general UK conditions. ... and a Sierra Designs Nitro 800 which I find perfect for most of the year. It'...

Re: Water Filter
The only issue with a Sawyer or similar can be filling the bag - weirdly, if you cut the bottom of the bag off, things are far easier.

Goldilocks - first completion.
Congratulations to Ben Hudson on being the first person to complete Goldilocks. It took him around 6 days and 8 hours and I can't imagine it was done beneath blue skies
Sorry, forgot to mention that he was riding SS, so probably a reasonable amount of walking involved me thinks.

Re: What is ádventure?
Does a micro-adventure reduce the time on an adventure or reduce the amount of adventuring during the adventure? Or maybe just reduce the expectation of adventure? Can you have an adventure of the mind tunnelling into words or is an adventure exclusive to getting outdoors and doing something? So ma...

Re: What is ádventure?
When we say 'element of the unknown' or uncertainty that doesn't automatically mean suffering or any type of fun located located high up the scale. We should take it literally ... what's down that track? as an example. Having something planned to the enth degree simply limits the possibility of adve...

Re: WRT GR's
Yes. The large double gate at the far end could be locked (doubtful) but there's a smaller pedestrian gate to the side.Does anyone know if you can get to Carno through the windfarm from the Towers without meeting any locked gates as due to shoulder issues lifting the bike over isn't possible ?

Re: Yay, it's cheery Friday.
Not an easy thing to do V especially as we get older and the prospect of living without someone can seem harder than the reality of continuing to live with them. These things have a habit of working out though.

Looking for a new tent?
... and not doing the WRT because it's on the same weekend, then this may be of interest especially as it mentions pizza. There's been a stay of execution Reg.In other, not cheery, news, I heard they were closing the Welshpool base of Air Ambulance, combining it with Caernarvon, and basing it somewhere on the north coast instead. Rumour or......?
