Re: Crow Fazua questions.

Firstly to be legal in the UK and Europe they are all assist. If it can move without being pedalled it is not an ebike it is a moped and is subject to a different set of rules. (I hope no one mentions rolling down hill. That would be a distraction) Don't put too much faith in magazine or web based r...

Re: Geographical oddities

A few years ago I thought I might get interested in caving or potholing. I rapidly went off the idea but did find out about a pothole called Alum Pot. It has a stream flowing through it which pops up out of the ground again at Turn Dub. The odd thing is that Turn Dub is on the opposite side of the r...

I don't think the comments have been unhelpful.

I wondered if anyone had tried them.

Re: Puncture Protection

I was wondering if anyone had fitted/used them. The tubed version particularly.

The sidewall protection is to try to save the rims rather than the tyres as far as I know.

They also mention the ability to run much lower tyre pressures than usual with tubes.

Overall, sounds way too good to be true.

Puncture Protection

Has anyone tried Tannus Armour?

There used to be just a tubed version but there is a tubeless version as well now which must be relatively new.

Re: Pinion Gearbox???

I looked at the review at :- https://bikepacking.com/gear/pinion-gearbox-review/ It seems very comprehensive and fair except for two things. I think the guy in the video mentioned the belt stretching or if he didn't use the word stretch he showed that he could rotate the crank a couple of degrees be...

Re: Pinion Gearbox???

If I didn't need an eBike I would struggle to choose between the Rohloff hub and the Pinion gearbox but have a look here :- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W_hx4V9mYuw This guy travels the world by bike and so has a lot of experience with the Pinion (and the Rohloff) and belt drives Some of his info...

Could have been much worse. You could have mentioned eBikes with Rohloff hubs and belt drives

Re: E-bikes - Bad for your health

Lots more comments since I last looked and actually more positive than I expected but a couple of things are worth mentioning. i.e. eBikes are not used by lazy people. Lazy people are perfectly healthy people who sit at home watching the TV. They don't use a bike of any kind. You can have whatever l...

Re: E-bikes - Bad for your health

I came across the comments about ebikes recently and as an owner for the last 4 years I feel the need to throw in my thoughts. I bought mine because I'm an old git who started riding at 68 and has never developed whatever muscles are needed for prolonged pedalling up hills. I live and cycle in the F...

I have a pair of Bontrager XR3 29 x 2.4 They've done about 1000 miles and are in reasonable condition as far as I remember. You can have them if you want them.

Where are you in the country (roughly) I am in The Forest of Dean.
