Re: Genesis Vagabond - any good?

I already have a hard tail/rigid (depending on which forks I fit), On-One Inbred 29er. If this isn’t even as good as that, would there be much point in getting one? You would not notice any significant improvement over the ridged Inbred - both would be about the same weight and TBH ride characteris...

Re: Genesis Vagabond - any good?

I agree with the NorwayCalling about it not being light or responsive. Although I didn't get on with it. Always felt like Id pedal as hard as I could and it just went "and what do you want me to do about it". Conversely my CAADX is an over excited spanniel yelping "again, again, come...

Re: Genesis Vagabond - any good?

is it any good - yes and rides nicely - however its not in anyway "light" or "responsive". Load it up with bikepacking kit and this becomes a moot point anyway. Also frame size is a bit non-standard, you do need to get a leg over one before committing. I liked my time with this ...

Genesis Vagabond - any good?

Thinking of getting a Genesis Vagabond.
Seems like a good design from a reputable brand.
Lots if good reviews.
Does anyone have any experience of them?
Thanks for the help 🙂👍

I know a normal 29er wheel can fit, but not sure about 29 plus.

Re: Jones Loop Wanted

I've heard the bars aren't quite symmetrical, and the welding isn't as neat as the Jones, but only what I've heard. For ballance, I've got a PX London Road and that's been faultless over thousands of miles. I’ve got some On-One Geoff, Mary, OG and flat bars. All of which are perfect. I’ve also owne...

What’s up with the quality of PX/ On-One?
I’ve used their stuff since they started out without any problems at all.

Re: Gearing problems?

Can I just clear up that the “mechanic” that arsed up the chain etc, did the job for the previous owner. The (much better) mechanic who’s fixing it, is a different person. Also, the previous owner has agreed to refund me the cost of the repair. Hopefully I can just get on and ride the bloody thing s...

Re: Gearing problems?

I’ve just dropped the bike off at my LBS. He said straight away that the chain was far too short! Fitting a longer one should do the trick, but as this sized cassette is right on the limit of that mech’s capacity, it may also need a mech extender. I’ve just sent him a message to ask him to check if...

Re: Gearing problems?

Shimano are somewhat conservative with their stated mech capacities but that mech and cassette should be fine - my wife has the same on her Stooge. As Duncan notes, start with the mech hanger alignment though usually it affects indexing rather than cassette clearance. From when it's in the lowest g...

Re: Gearing problems?

IT should work according to the Shimano specs. Low sprocket_Max. 42T(2x11-speed), 46T(1x11-speed) Have you checked the hanger is straight? I would do that first, then check the chain length is correct and then set the mech up again from scratch. If after all that, it's still playing up, then it's h...

Gearing problems?

I've recently picked up a used On-One Inbred 29er and I'm generally very pleased with it, apart from the gears... The previous owner has fitted a single 32T chain ring and a SLX 11-speed 11-46 cassette. The rear mech is a SLX RD-M7000-11. The problem is that when its in the lowest gear, the top jock...

Re: SOLD!! Thorn Sterling (Rohloff) + extra forks & more!

Brilliant news, remind him to update the Rohloff registration, so many people forget :) Why is the transfer necessary out of interest. I bought a second hand rohloff, filled in the form then never really heard anything back/ forgot about it until now. It can't be for warranty as this is void as now...
