Re: Bivvy a month 2023.

Winter Event and BAM for Jan 23 David and I attended the event, clutching a carefully planned on/off road route, primarily to hit a bothy. Neither of us was particularly match fit but very excited to enter this prestigious occasion for the first time, and it was David’s first Bear Bones gathering. D...

Re: Bivvy a month 2022

Great stuff Phil, your awards are the icing on the cake, and to get a credit is for me as good as the BAM badge for a first timer :-bd

Re: Bivvy a month 2022

30 December...BAM no 12 for 2022... It was now or never, the forecast for 31st was rain all the way. That day spent ages preparing my Whyte. Fitted my rear wheel complete with new Hope Pro 4 hub and faffed around to fit less kit to luggage that allowed use of a handlebar mounted bike light. I still ...

Re: Bivvy a month 2022

I fancied a change for this month's BAM. And most certainly got it!! Can't believe I missed your write-up earlier Neil. Very eventful. Great stuff! Mate of mine hit a bridge on our canal a while ago and ended up in the drink. Luckily his chums fished him out 'cos he's an old bugger and a bit unstea...

Re: Bivvy a month 2022

BAM for Nov. 10th. Not like me to start so early in the month but a chance to join Steve at short notice was too good to miss. And still time to get in another bivvy before the month is out. This is the report for Worc. Hike Bike and Bivi from Steve: "T'was a mightily mild and dry autumnal even...

Re: Bivvy a month 2022

BAM for October. 29th. I fancied a change for this month's BAM. And most certainly got it!! Finally in the 10th month I set up my proper bikepacking bike the Whyte Trail Steel 19 with a rear wheel from my full suss. So thats 3 bikes used this year so far! I teamed up with Dave from the YesTribe West...

Re: Bivvy a month 2022

BAM 29 September... Not a lot of time or thought went into this month's trip but nevertheless i enjoyed a camp on the Malvern Hills, North Hill to be precise. So that's nine BAM wild camps already bagged for this year! Used my Giant Trooper which is the nearest I will get to a 'gravel bike'. A might...

RIP wrote: Thu Sep 01, 2022 2:23 pm Tis true - the night of the last day of the month plus the night of the first day of the following month.

I wish I hadn't reiterated that. It just looks even more complicated  .
Lol RIP I really should've used your words for my edit :???:

You do realise that needs to include at least 2 nights?
I do yes, thank you Bearlegged. I can see where your coming from on my statement. Thanks for highlighting this, I will edit my post.

Re: Bivvy a month 2022

BAM Aug 31...I wont harp on about procrastination, it happens too often! So last night saw me leave home at 2205. My route is all uphill to the Malvern Hills. Its so dark. I settle down to a reasonable pace while repeatedly chanting my FPL score, and score including bonus points!! At least I wasn't ...

Re: Bivvy a month 2022

July BAM...22 July... A message from 'bike n bivi' guru Leigh earlier in the day (22nd) prompted me to join him, thus breaking my usual end of month BAM timings. However this posting is dangerously late, my excuse, either hols or work, no time for out else! Following work that day I hastily cooked d...

Re: Bivvy a month 2022

BAM 30 June...58 days was my last bivi on WRT. At the very death of June I surface again, taking procrastination to new levels! The evening is passing, kit readied and number 5 bike, the '15 quid Raleigh' checked over for it's first mission. And complete with panniers fitted for emergency journeys, ...

Re: Bivvy a month 2022

BAM for April and May... Sharon and I completed our WRT. My third, Sharon's first. Nothing epic as neither of us had done much offroad cycling or even that much on road for a long while. The start was late this year (no complaints!) and the raffle prizegiving went on forever (fantastic). Off we went...

I've added you to the list Neil! To get multiple images on a post you need to use a photo hosting site so you can then paste bbcodes up. I use imgbb as this has proven to be the only one I found which didn't demand subscription money with menaces after a year of free use. Many thanks Phil, will try...

Re: Bivvy a month 2022

March 31... Procrastination is the rule for my choice of BAM night, even WRT falls nicely at the end of April. Last night it was do or die, given that the other day while undertaking a heavy lift my good knee got mullered (i suspect and fear cartilage damage). And of course the coldest night of the ...

Re: Bivvy a month 2022

27 February 2022 Well its a day earlier than January's bivi, more to do with Leigh suggesting Sunday night, as Monday = rain. Unfortunately Leigh had to pull out so my wish to hit the heights of the Malvern Hills became live. Nevertheless at 2100 with bike and man ready to go, severe behaviour ensue...

Re: Bivvy a month 2022

Always remain flexible Neil :-bd Thank you Stuart, i will indeed remain flexible, it comes with the many cockups i suffer/endure/put right, such as arriving home this morn to find my carefully hidden door key out of reach under my water butt, no choice but to drain the butt to access my key doh! Ok...

Re: Bivvy a month 2022

31 January...Just completed my January bivvy in time last night. Following a late in the month decision with my pal to partake in Bivvy a Month we chose Saturday night 29th, but his plan to finish work early evaporated so we decided to go for the 31st and meet at a localish pub for starters. I reach...
