I think you might be right, but I live in improbable hope.

Cheap, light and robust - lock recommendations please!

As title really (and aware that the holy trinity of all three criteria is basically impossible). Planning a hopefully fast and light ride through France into Spain that will all be on roads and want something small and light that will allow me to relax my guard while perusing the aisles of lidl en r...

Re: WTD bivi bag/tarp

Thanks -that's really useful. Think he said it was event rather than goretex? My experience with event is limited to jackets and I've found it to be pretty good - any idea how well it works in bivvy bags?

Re: WTD bivi bag/tarp

Thanks a lot. Do you think it would be a good equivalent to the hunka? I've read really good reviews of the alpkit bags.

Would be very interested in your red hunka should the other person decide it's not for them.

Re: Powerpack for dynamo set up

I’m now using a nitecore f2 charger with batteries. It actually will allow pass through as it is also designed for solar panel charging. I’m quite impressed. Buy as many batteries that you need. I’ve had anker which won’t allow pass through, it will charge but turns off charging to phone. Ravpower ...

Re: Powerpack for dynamo set up

Thanks very much for all the input - the forum delivers, once again! Great advice re the passthrough charging and it's something I'd seen online before. I think 10000mah should be enough for my forthcoming trip, so I'll get an anker (or similar) and then consider getting a 2nd one once I've got the ...

Powerpack for dynamo set up

Can anyone recommend a powerpack/battery for use in a dynamo set up? I've got an SP hub and will be getting an igaro when funds permit. I'd like to have a high capacity battery (10 or 20Ah) as I'll be using it on its own for some shorter trips before I get the igaro cranked up. Would ideally have pa...

Re: Swindon - great stones way - Salisbury - south downs way

Thanks for all the replies - only just spotted them. Interesting to hear the great stones way may not be entirely legal - my companion for the ride has walked it and it's his suggestion. Don't really fancy thigh high nettles or irate dog walkers, so may have to reconsider that leg. Any suggestions f...

Re: Trans Cambrian Way (round trip)

Thanks - that's good to know as I'll be on a gravel bike too, probably with 38s. Can you remember what sort of tyres they were? Proper cyclocross nobblies, or something more gravel orientated? And tubeless or no?

Re: Trans Cambrian Way (round trip)

Thinking of trying this one (just East to West, not the double!), but the IMBA website seems not to work. Does anyone have a GPX of the route they could ping me please, or point me in the direction of one? Thanks a lot.

Swindon - great stones way - Salisbury - south downs way

Sdw has long been on my bucket list and a friend and I are planning to double it up with the great stones way from Swindon over a weekend in June. Has anyone ridden this particular combo?

Re: Gravel Bike Rim Recommendations Please!

19mm 700c Wtb frequency currently 19.99 at crc! The 23mm version are 34.99. Reckon it'd be OK running 38s tubeless on a 19mm rim? Happy to pay the extra for the 23s if they're likely to be a better bet.
