Re: Bamboo has landed

My first bit of BBB kit and I'm really chuffed with it. one tip - avoid using it for running unless you're into really sore nipples. Thanks stu!

Re: Dyno Hub Rotating In Forks

I had a similar thing with an SP dynohab. I thought about filing the axle down, but didn't fancy it, so ended up laying a thin 25mm long fillet of sugro so that it covered the junction between the bit that rotates and the fixed section next to it. The adhesion was just enough to stop the rotation an...

Re: What Garmin ?

I recently bought an 820 to replace an 810 (had an 800, 500 and 705 before that) and have been very pleased with it. Read all the dire reviews first, but was swayed by the v long battery life and the combo of decent navigation and ant+ compatibility for pm etc. I've just finished a week long 1000 mi...

Plus one for the above solution, again with an sp hub, but I used m5 stainless washers to shim it.

Wanted - alpkit stem cell or similar

I'm after something to stash a 650ml/450ml tomshoo combo in and the stem cell looks about right. Does anyone have one they're interested in flogging?

Re: Genetic Digest bars

I just couldn't work them out - with the drops in a comfy position, and the levers where I could reach them from the drops, the hoods were way too low and far forward to be any use climbing. Almost certainly not helped by the fact that, even with a +17 degree stem and plenty of headset spacers, the ...

Genetic Digest bars

Bought them hoping they'd be the answer to my prayers, but they're not. I think I've just used standard road drops for too long to manage the change, and the idea of climbing without being able to use the hoods terrifies me. Fitted once, so some small marks around the stem clamp area, but never used...

Re: Wanted - gravel or 29er fork

As luck would have it, I found a set of eBay Chinese forks v similar to the kinesis ones only with an alloy steerer and less than half the price at 40 quid. Unlikely anyone else is in the lookout, but they have a few more sets as well as thru axle and full carbon ones - https://rover.ebay.com/rover/...

Re: Cheap, light and robust - lock recommendations please!

Depends on how secure you require. If its a quick in and out of shops, I'm liking one of these in addition to other security (leave bike in hardest gear, use helmet straps through spokes etc) Anything to slow them down and give you a chance https://www.hiplok.com/z-lok-combo/ Mart That looks really...

Re: Cheap, light and robust - lock recommendations please!

Thanks all. I like the look of the bluetooth lock/alarm combo, but one of the 5 amazon reviews is a bit scary - seems the user's phone failed to pair with the unit and he was effectively screwed - no way to unlock and stranded without a pair of cutters and some ear protectors! On reflection, and bei...
