Re: Brooks saddles
Brooks B17 on my main bikes (tourers). The aim is to create a hammock like effect. Start by giving the bolt half to one full turn to loosen it and therefore Create a bit of flex and start the breaking in. Next I paint the saddle with neatsfoot oil about 6 coats letting it dry between coats. Brooks s...

Screen is as new. Still covered by plastic film. Have a handle bar mount. Its cheapo from China but it does work. I will try and sort out price.

Garmins
Before I put them on eBay I thought I would ask on here if anyone is interested. Garmin GPS60cs and GPSmap62 the latter will take OS maps. The 60cs has a slight fault on the screen. Sometimes a little squiggle appears on the screen. Not all the time and it isn't getting worse. Both are registered in...

Re: That white stuff out there...
Studded schwalbe tyres (ice spiker) with 4 rows of studs will get me through 4" of snow off road. I expect Schwalbes snow tyres would be a better option. Basically mountain bike tyres with studs. I will buy them for next year. Knee wasn't upto 2.5-3 hour walk Tueseday so had to use bike but man...

Yes, thanks Ian. Reminds me of my rant a couple of weeks ago about "private land" and how us "wild campers" can't be allowed to bivi out because it causes such massive damage Causes is the past tense. Someone has complained that wild campers have already caused massive damage? A...

" Clearly the point of burning must be to create heather for the grouse to hide in. Removing all vegetation would result in no grouse, I can see no other point to burning. Maybe someone on here can explain it to me. It's to provide food - older heather isn't as nutritious (according to all my ...

[/quote] One of the landowners named in that has recently been in touch with a local Mtb advocacy group to ask them to see if riders will stop riding a particular section of cheeky trail that been riden for years. Erosion is the the reason they gave! Oh, and the potential for user group conflict. Wh...

" by owners intent on practising blood sports is totally unacceptable" I think the latter sums this thread up. This is merely anti shooting hiding behind environmentalism. Clearly the point of burning must be to create heather for the grouse to hide in. Removing all vegetation would result...

Re: Bugoutbike project
Is this OscarMike a loon or what? Obviously the Santos Travelmaster 2.6 alu is the first choice prepper bike. Why would you want your bike to rust? you don't know when you are going to be saved. Also I have used big apple front and rear on my Santos Travelmaster 2.6 alu with room to spare. The stand...

Re: Bike lust.....
I don't have to lust after that bike, I have an inheritance coming in about 6 months. I have only ever bought second hand up to now and I am seriously thinking of having a bespoke bike made. I have 2 Rohloff equipped touring bikes but they just arent working for me off road. As I have severe arthrit...
