SOLD - Riverside Touring 920 large (limited edition no.69 of 200 built)
SOLD Very much didn't ever want to do this but sadly due to ongoing ill health issue (long covid) I'm having to sell nearly all my much loved bikes to make way for an ebike so I can still enjoy riding the hills. Hopefully only a temporary measure and I'll be back riding 'proper' bikes in a couple of...

Around the world on a fattie
Just bumped into this fella getting up the hill at the end of my road. He's on a Salsa Backbarrow. Lovely fella, two days in. On the ferry to St Marlow tomorrow.

Re: Bearfoot cycling shoes: such a thing?
Hi Shaf, I've been using barefoot shoes on and off for the last decade. Love them. Ditched the spd a few years back too. Closest thing I've found for cycling is the older Five Tens that used to be mega wide and roomy. Zero drop from what I can tell too. Bugger all proprioception due to the thickness...

Re: What became of the Decathlon Adventure bike?
Right I have a bit more time now so here's a more detailed overview: The positives: - Nice colour - Lots of points to mount stuff - Cheaper than a Fargo/Cutthroat/Insearchof - Good warranty and aftercare from Decathlon - Rides nicely - Good spec - I can use my MTB wheels/tyres on it - The SRAM brake...

Re: Bearbones snoods
I could have my arm twisted. Would prefer merino but I've never seen a printed one. But wool or poly they need to be wide enough. I've not a wide neck but I've had a few freebies given to me that are so narrow they uncomfortable. My fave is one from a run I did with the local runninf shop logo on! T...

Re: Full suss vs rigid 29plus
I consider myself a bit of an expert over SDW bike choice... I've done it multiple days on a combination of rigid 29, hardtail 29, semi-fat 27.5, full-suss 26, and full-suss 29. My arse tells me that after many years of mistakenly thinking suspension would simply add to the effort required due to th...

Re: Thermos mugs
I use a Lifeventure Thermal Mug. The screw top version stays hotter longer, but both are good if you have a rucksack to throw them in and forget about them. They chill down failry fast if they're in the open. I'd suggest 4-6 hours is the longest for a warm drink. I always pre-warm them before filling.

Re: Do I want a riser bar?
Richey do a little riser stem. I've used one in the past. They're cheaper than a new bar if you shop around: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/165017203669?var=0&mkevt=1&mkcid=1&mkrid=710-53481-19255-0&toolid=10050&campid=5338358731&customid=16291124692683473680012041000008005 I thi...
