Re: The post man's been ...

Brought a bottle of 5yr old Caol Ila for decanting for WRT. I've no idea what's wrong with it that it's been bottled at 5 years, but I'll enjoy finding out!

For some reason I'm wondering quite what kind of special that is. C'mon, they're mankinis aren't they?

Re: (I think I'm Going Crazy) I'm Gonna Go Radge (It Is Unco

On Lincoln's Inn? ? Blimey. Now that would be a bivvy and a half. Worked round there a few times and it's certainly pretty posh. Perhaps if I roll up on my Brommie, but in pinstripe and bowler with an attache case, then set up I'll probably be OK... fit right in no probs . Mneh well the surro...

Re: (I think I'm Going Crazy) I'm Gonna Go Radge (It Is Unco

Should you still be interested in a London bivvy, Lincolns Inn Fields is usually ok with a tent though you may want to bring the Brompton inside with you and yes, you will be 'mistaken' for a rough sleeper, and I've seen them on a nice patch just outside Regents Park on the north east corner - much ...

Re: How many spare tubes do you carry?

Question regarding sewing kit - I'm new to these paper-thin tyres so got little experience with tyre sewing...what gauge thread and needle size are you using? Any pics for reference?

2 tubes here. And a wrap of gaffer tape. And a flat section of milk bottle.

What a great thing is that? If I played percussion I'd definitely take sticks on bike rides. Bit hard to take a trombone bikepacking, though I love the idea of playing full volume at the top of Cader Idris or similar. No neighbours to upset.

I've just removed this from the bike http://i1164.photobucket.com/albums/q569/Sean_iow/DSC_7057-1496x842_zpsvj8i7me6.jpg This makes me cheery as I've realised how lucky I was to avoid a stem to groin interface on last night's ride when the top tooth failed  perhaps I've eeked just a few too ...

Re: WRT the Star and the weather thread

I'll be there Friday, but rolling down on 2 wheels in the morning. Based on the current guess, probably mid to low teens, mostly overcast with some rain. They only really have any reliability 3 days ahead - beyond that anything could happen and it's informed guesswork. Is it too early to start Ommin...

I've got a set of black Al Loops that can be had. They came on a Surley Troll but it's owner didn't like them so we swapped them out. Almost new condition with comfy black tape everywhere but the main grip area. How's £75 posted to mainland UK?

The one on the bottom/right. If only due to the pattern disappearing and there being a black section in it's place.

Tidy job.

Re: stem raiser help

For anyone wanting a bit more reach along with some height, I bought a Cinelli Pista track stem and turned it the wrong way up. 30 degrees and various lengths available.
It's not made for Mtb, but if it's good enough for hammering on the track I reckon it'll be fine. Cheap too!

Re: contact lenses?

I've been wondering this. I have a pretty strong prescription and now needing reading glasses as well I've taken to using varifocal contact lenses for some activities. Not used them for cycling as yet and would wonder about putting them in with more or less unwashed hands in the morning. And needing...

Not sure I'll ever need it, but feel naked in the back of bey...

Has anyone managed to get the 1 litre/min throughput on one of these? I cleaned mine this evening and had a couple of goes - the best I could manage in a minute was 750ml. That doesn't include the priming time. It felt quite hard work too, I wouldn't want to be providing for a scout troupe! Y...

My mug came with a little net bag - and the rectangular windshield that came with my 22g stove fits neatly inside the net bag, on the outside of the mug, but very snug. I think that's ok.

Why did I only just see this thread? If there happens to be a bail in the group, or room for another then I'd very much like to add my own brand of badinage and buffoonery to the LHC. I have a sense of direction and I'm not afraid to use it, but damn little experience of midwales biking or bivvying ...

I have to wonder whether Bikeradar are moving within the correct circles - when compared to our mug-dangling* brethren, we do appear to be the people fashion forgot. *which in itself is little more than a fashion accessory  Don't feel so left-out, the slithy touch of fashion reaches everywher...
