Carbon Forks eBay - any good
Hi All, Thinking about some carbon forks for a Troll. It's a mk1, managed to get some 27.5x2.6 wheels/tyres on it, thinking about both suspension forks (hard to find ones in 1 1/8, that'll take wheels/tyres with recommended axle to crown measurement for less than £400, or some carbon forks. On the l...

Anyone got a GPX route for tomorrow you could share please!?
Hi All, Coming tomorrow with a couple of mates, left route planning until last minute due to being too busy, bike faff preparations have left us little time as we had problems with a newbies bike/gear setup, and being a bit poor show on IT hasn't helped!! We've cobbled together a bit of a route but ...

Re: Woodchippers, dyno hub & more exciting stuff
Steve - I'll take the seatpost pls, how do you want payment?
Re the hub, can they charge devices too or just lights? Is that a blk one, 32H? Prob a daft question but assume it can't be converted to 15mm with caps?

Re: Spanish C2C 2018 Hands Up Who's In?
Hi Duncan
Are you full for this trip yet? I can't commit yet, but depending on work, may try and fit a trip in between jobs.
Will know more in next couple of weeks hopefully.
Besides flights, what are the costs?
Would be flying from Gatwick, and would need a box transfer.
Cheers

Re: Ruta De La Plata
Don't let me put you off the camping! The France's route is prob much busier. We planned to camp much more but didn't always seem to get opportunity. Equally the hostels may be quieter on your route. Rasta is right, hostels aren't full of noisy people, lights out and quiet by 10. Just saying if your...

Re: Ruta De La Plata
That'll be a great trip, the Genesis is perfect for the job. I considered doing it with a well known tour company a few years ago, but it's so expensive. Usually well over £100 a day for what sbe a cheap activity. Think it was nearly £3k. They allowed 17 days...and they carry your gear, but they're ...

Re: Grand Traverse of the Massif Central
I know people sing the virtues and 'purity' of singlespeeds, not tried it, asking for pure pain IMO! I'll stick with gears, and lots of them.

Re: Alpkit LoveMud Confucius bars
Great bars, a bit heavy, not had any problems with comfort due to alleged stiffness, didn't notice any difference at all tbh The loop is genuinely useful, different hand positions, more room to mount lights/GPS etc, I strap an alpkit 20l dual lock to mine using the closure buckles on roll closures a...

Re: Breaking TLS theory... what luxuries on tour?
Been on several trips on Spanish Camino routes last three years and used a hammock, now that is comfort. Sleep better than at home! Recommended. Makes a good chair too. Have swapped tarp for a DD one so if there's nowhere to hang hammock that can be set up in a variety of ways. Hammock can also doub...

Re: 26 Plus size - any good?
I have a Troll too, the orange model. Not ridden much and lent it out. May have to try this. I have some alpkit rumpus 27.5 with the new schwalbe smart Sam 2.6 tyres, not quite the bigger plus size which the wheels are obv intended for, but love 2.6 tyres in 29 flavour. Have nobby nics on a KM. Smar...

26 Plus size - any good?
Hi All Anyone have any experience of this wheel size and what they ride like? Wouldn't normally consider this size, but I'm thinking of doing a cheap build of a NOS instigator 1.0 frame, have most bits laying about. Apparently it'll take a 26+ Tried a 27.5 with a 2.6, ok on fork but a bit too much f...
