Re: Bargain Alert Thread
Just while I'm out their page, am I being thick, or are these not (just about) the exact same? There's a review and test of the 3f tent on youtube...seems pretty good for the money, as does the Naturehike Tagar https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ZGpQXZC6A0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WHzsA6gAXUE&...

Re: Todays ride
Well I had a 1 1/2 hour window this morning at short notice, while Wifey was in Oswestry, so I set off from Rhydycroesau Village Hall, up towards pen y gwely around the back of Rhiwlas to llechrydau and back..boy was it slippy! I slithered around and amazingly only came off once, landing on my arse ...

Has anyone any experience of their tents? ...the Quickhiker 2 person (green dome - MSR(ish) copy) looks amazing value at £79.00 - I like the fact that it's not horrendously heavy at 2.7 kg, (Okay I know..but for a simple, cheap, basic tent) has alloy poles, lots of storage pockets, 2 porches and it ...

Re: Naturehike tents ?
..answered my own question - it seems that you don't pay duty if goods are worth less than £135.00, but you are eligible to pay VAT on goods from non-EU countries and "special territories"...so as I understand it you can expect to pay another 20% on top?..still not a bad price!

Re: Naturehike tents ?
I've been looking at these also. It seems that you can buy the basic 2 man Big Agnes copy on ebay, direct from China at about £50.00!...however does anyone know if you'd subsequently get clobbered with import duty? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Naturehike-2Person-Double-Layer-Camping-Tent-Hiking-Travel...

Tyre widths and internal rim widths?
I'm building a rigid 29er and have some tubeless ready rims with an internal width of 21mm. I was just wondering whether anyone has experience of an optimum tyre width to suit that rim width? Obviously the wider the tyre, the better for the front - to cushion hits, however I don't want the tyre to s...

Re: Is it an adventure bike....?
I've just received an update from them by email stating that the maximum tyre size one can fit to a vagabond is 29X2.1", however I know of people getting 29x2.2/2.3" tyres on depending on tread. They also state, that the Vagabond is a dedicated 29er and as such it is a dedicated 29er so I...

Surly LHT 52cm
My Surly is in beautiful condition and last Autumn had a brand new Spa cycles chainset (48/38/28); UN55 bottom bracket; SRAM 8 speed chain; 11-32 Shimano 8 speed cassette; SKS mudguards and new bar tape. It has had hardly any use since then, so the drivetrain is virtually as new. Wheels are mavic 21...

It's a small..I'm just under 5' 8". I don't think the toe overlap is a big deal, but you just have to be aware of it.
