Re: I just can't do it ...
Drifting back into making Road orientated geared bikes more off road suitable, what us the most cost effective way of doing this? My Cdf runs tiagra 4700 throughout with a 34/34 as the lowest possible gear which, from stu's comments, sound like it's not going to be low enough. If I want to change th...

They don't fit what the OP is after but has anyone tried the Alpkit Bombers? Can't afford the cowchips but these look like they might be worth a try.

Re: WTD: Handlebar harness
I'm rather new around here so not really sure how these kind of things are generally sorted out? Presumably some kind of death match? Or a thread full of pandas? Either way, I am not sure I have the political capital to come out on top so for now I will bide my time. Enjoy your new harness cloudnine...

Obviously ootini has first dibs but if he isn't interested I may be. Which harness is it? You got any pictures showing the extent of the damage? Cheers.

Re: spacered bar harness
Had a reply from Alpamayo about the front Harness stock:
"Frustratingly the harnesses are ready, but we're waiting on a shipment of the plastic spacer blocks, which seems to have got stuck at customs. I'd hope we receive them in the next week or so but it's difficult to say"

Given the cost of these I am seriously beginning to consider trying to make my own. They don't exactly look complicated.

Re: spacered bar harness
Pretty sure that the new(ish) Ortlieb bar harness has a spacer system very similar to the Relevate one. They do have a collection of foam spacers. However, the Alpamayo with it's fixed spacer is far less faff to use and very stable too ... how long are they out of stock for? I email them yesterday ...

Re: Uk Divide Route?
the section that goes through urban Birmingham will not be up many peoples street! Actually, I reckon that would be quite a good thing to have on the route. You want to watch out for the canal towpaths - wet smooth red brick can be treacherous! I know a few people that have ended up in the drink (n...

Hi Ian.
Do the bar bags need a harness (like wildcat mountain lion) to go with them?
Cheers
EDIT: ignore this. Of course they do...

Thanks for highlighting on my WTD but I think I am going to try and live without a frame bag for the mo. The shape of my bike frame doesn't really lend itself to one. A couple of mates I have maybe interested so will let them know though. Will keep a lookout for you future goodies, particularly if y...

Re: Alternative hunka-xl?
How big do you have to be for a regular hunka to be too small? I'm 5"10 (173cm) and fairly thin (65kg). Was planning on getting a regular but is it worth holding out for an xl?
