Love my exposure diablo - it gets used regularly on the bars of my road bike for the winter country lane commute of around an hour each way and then as a helmet mount on the mountain bike in conjunction with a maxx d.

Re: Direct power from dynamo to garmin

I use a powermonkey explorer 2 in-line between my plug 3 and garmin/mobile. This cache battery also allows an uninterrupted flow to the garmin (old edge 800) irrespective of losing dynamo power when I stop/slow down. This way, I can ensure I can charge phone, gps camera etc while moving and still be...

Nordisk Telemark 2. Wanted a bigger floor size, smaller packsize and lighter mountain marathon tent. So far fits all the bills. Great tent, had one for 3 years, just be cautious with pitch orientation in strong winds. And either seal up the holes that allow you to remove the little corner poles or ...

What am I missing? I don't think you're missing owt. In fact, I think you've summed it up quite nicely. There's also the fact that Apidura have distribution too, which places their products in many a bike shop. This. When I was looking to set up my cx bike with bags a couple of years ago, the abili...

On a spending spree! A very nice package from Backcountry in Aviemore containing Revelate Pika and Jerrycan, Alpamayo front harness, front accessory bag and a small frame bag. All tried out on bike and fits well, though a bit of jiggling with cables required. Be interested to hear how you get on wi...

Nice. Very much considering an e-bike for my missus but I'm terrified she wont use it. Me too - she never uses the cross or MTB she has now, although doesn't help that she is not bike fit. When I want a motorbike, I'll buy a proper one! To be fair the missus really enjoys using her current cross bi...

Re: Bivi, jacket, aerobars

Thanks fellas. I use the Neoair Xlite and find my std. size Hunka is nowhere near big enough to get the mat and bag in there and have me wriggle about. How's it handle the rain? I'd want to use it sans tarp. Greetz S. I already have the same bivi and it's fine in wet weather without a tarp although...

Gotta colour on the Alpine? [Edit: did ask for size...but it seems one size only] Out of interest...can you get a mat in there with your bag and still get decent loft? Greetz S. Hi, it's grey and yellow (the alpine is not exactly a stealth bag) As Simon says, I can get a thermarest neo air (about 5...

Re: Light duty bikepacking/commuting/pub frame

I'm a fan of Cotic in general and am just building up an Escapade for gravel/bikepacking duties. The geometry suits me, the Cotic ride and build quality is always good and I even like the colour! Be interested to see the build when you've completed. There looks to be a cotic dealer reasonably close...

I really like the Escapade, don't have one, but like the bike and the brand Are you saying budget is £1k for the frame only? Just that I'd rather keep the cost well under £1k for the frame and any associated parts required for the swap. At £400 for the cotic I'd expect to spend at least another £20...

Rab powerstretch beanie.

https://rab.equipment/uk/mens/hats-caps ... tch-beanie

Been using one for a couple of years of winter commuting - its thin and stretchy so fits snug under a helmet, covers the ears and breathes really well so your head doesn't end up sweaty.
