Mine came with 2 stainless steel shot "glasses" which I always take.

Re: What's in your hip flask?
It may be heresy, but every trip I've been on with my mate Matt has been accompanied with a hip flask full of coffee liqueur. It's become a little tradition for us. Its lovely in the morning under the tarp with a strong coffee as well.

And delivered a 22g meths stove and tapered windshield, cheers Stu, a nice little dd tarp and a voile strap, all in time for a little trip to the Chilterns. Feels like Christmas.

Shimano Deore front derailleur question
Hello all, my genesis vagabond has a Shimano Deore FD-M616 front derailleur that is not direct fit. It needs replacing but it seems they don’t stock it anymore, anywhere. Does anyone know what would be an appropriate replacement. Sorry to ask such a basic question, but I’ve never replaced a front de...

Hi, nice part of the world is Berko, I used to visit there a lot. Will definitely be looking at wild camping, hadn’t thought about starting from there, I’ll have a chat with my mate and get back to you, cheers.

Re: Chilterns route advice
Hi, I’ve never been before, so have no idea, but it’s pretty equidistant from us around the hills, just looking for anywhere people would recommend, may well be our last trip this year due to work and parent commitments.

Chilterns route advice
Hi all, a friend and I are planning on going away on a trip soon to the Chilterns for a few nights. Does anyone have any route advice, especially looking for bridleway/off-road. Many thanks in advance, Rob.

I was given a bottle of quince gin last year that had been made by a neighbour, it was delicious. Might be a way to use up the fruit.

Re: I'd like to share this.
I wholeheartedly agree with this on many levels. As a teacher I actively encourage my students to fail, they think I'm bloody mad. We all fail, but I see on a daily basis how crippling fear of failure can be. Resilience is something that can be learnt and would benefit all. I'll get off my soapbox n...

Got nagged by my wife to take one last year, subsequently did a first aid course and now make sure I always pack one, antiseptic wipes, plasters, some bandages and pain killers. Fingers crossed I never need it.

Bwahahahahahaha! At least that's easily rectifiable... I had this crank related shennaigans to me on a ride before... https://live.staticflickr.com/5557/30669696525_5257665fe5_b.jpg sheared_crank by Chris Reeves , on Flickr That's a whole load of mess. Ours was easily fixed, thankfully.

Re: A mechanical failure
I'd have rolled on the floor with tears in my eyes there! I did for a long time, and the following day. Karma had it's way and kicked me back when I cycled through a whole load of wet cow muck and spent ten minutes dragging my bike through tall grass to clean it off. It was a much needed trip full ...

A mechanical failure
Had a great trip to the Isle of Purbeck over the weekend, some gorgeous landscapes . We found a lovely bivvy spot nestled amongst some gorse bushes, fell asleep under the stars and woken by the sounds of gulls. Before we got to the bivvy spot we had a few beers at the Star and Compass, on the way to...

I moved to the fens last year and can only echo the above. It has its own charm that grows on you, but the wind is brutal and incessant. I thought living in the flatlands would make cycling a doddle, turns out you feel like your on a cycling machine in a wind tunnel with no let up, ever.

I’d have to agree about the decathlon stuff. I just bought the non hooded version of the insulated jacket for £15, an absolute bargain. https://www.decathlon.co.uk/trek-100-me ... 92904.html
