Re: If you could recommend 1 gravel route - what would it be?
done a fair few fantastic week offroad tours, that are all suitable for a modern gravel bike. badger divide, north to south was a cracker. trans cambrian route was very good, in roasting weather. and one year we cobbled a pennines, lakes, dales circuit, which was stunning. most routes are good on a g...

something from Cube would be my choice.
i am trying to sell my Fatbike, and this is gonna be my purchase.
Cube offer far more for the money, than fashionable names/niches.

It is just cycle touring with different types of luggage. Nothing more.

i could have cried going over Garburn on the winter Jennride. it was just horrible.suggesting Garburn Pass as 'bike touring' friendly and 'suitable for all skill levels'

Re: Tarmacs Route Planner?
It's quite fun to add the same start and end points to various and see how they differ. eg, Kentmere to Coniston: OS vs Komoot vs RideWithGPS vs cycle.travel vs Tarmacs. I've just added a blog post to collate these: https://cycling.hypertelia.com/cycle-ro ... g-services looking at all the options t...

Re: Monks trod - wtf
as someone who dislikes cars and motorbikes, this is a terrible thing.
But the last time i went over the monks trod, it was in a terrible state, and cycling it or trying to was pretty crap.
so if any work done on it makes it more usable, well it could be seen as a good thing...... kind of.

1st days ride is 100km but climbing up to 1500 metres from a start at 100 metres.
Mrs T is a bit worried, so we were gonna try and few training rides.

looks perfect to me mate. a proper usable bike.
and i love the fact that a odd bunch of bike parts can make such a nice thing, rather than buying a groupset complete.
