Re: BB200 2023

I’m the one who tried the 300 version with the Sloth. This was my 5th or 6th BB. All previous ones had been of the 200 variety. Always hard and a test - in a good way. BB is not meant to be easy and it isn’t. I had always finished in the past including one or two black badges. In other years things ...

Re: BB200

Thanks Boab. "Bushwhack corner; that blue line is the bridleway. To follow the actual GPS trace, you had to plough straight through a load of conifers, without any sign of a path."We ignored the conifer hell -in previous years I have followed the satnav come what may and that has sometimes...

Re: BB200

As enjoyable a ride as always. No vertical bogs ( 2013?)-well maybe one -no chest high tussocks ( 2014) -no frost or snow smattered hills ( 2014 again) and no raging torrents to cross ( 2019)-what on earth could go wrong.........? Our plan -we being the "3 London Fellows " referred to by M...

Re: Roam Scotland Rally

A nice idea that with some old favourites on the route. But two sections of trunk road (one a dual carriageway) within 20 miles of my house; both with back road or cycleway alternatives - I wish these guys would do a bit more route research.... If this was on the route from Oban to Dunoon that was ...

Re: Roam Scotland Rally

It really is a great route. Glens Kinglass and Loy would both meet Norm’s BB routing requirements. The Sloth and I are both riding the November version of BB if anyone wanted to discuss after seeing the photos.

South Downs Double

I have read comments about the South Downs Double on the forum before but after , sort of , thinking about this for a while, finally this year I did ride it. Other than some rain and the route being blocked for about 10 minutes by a film crew where we could not get past -oh and the head wind.... con...

Re: London calling

hi Try riding down to the Thames Barrier after work, following the paths and roads as close to the river as possible. The barrier is really cool especially in the dark .A year last september, two mates, both BB riders, and I met at the Cutty Sark for a beer and supper and we then rode to the Thames ...

Re: BB200 planning

I love reading the build up over the days leading up to the event. It is the same with the more challenging audax events I ride, seeing the different approaches as some riders delve into finite details . I never know where I am going on BB , save for ideally identifying where there is a pub for a ho...

Re: BB200 - The Aftermath

To add my thanks to Stu and Dee and Chew and any other helpers who make the BB the wonderful event it is. As stated above, it is a big decision to put on an event like this and we really appreciate all of the hard work and thought which go into it. Not least having to talk to us and hear our ( extre...

Re: 5th BB200 Ride Report

hi here are some photos from the BB and something I put on my club's blog ( the majority of the members being roadies only ....) http://southwestern-swrc.blogspot.co.uk/2015/10/bearbones-200.html https://www.flickr.com/photos/132146186@N07/ And belatedly- a great event again. Thanks of course to Stu...
