Re: Gravel bike suggestions?

The GT Grade's maximum tyre clearance of 35mm put me off. Does that help you ignore them?

Re: Gravel tyre advice

I've got a pair of the 40mm On-One Gravels that I keep meaning to advertise as they're don't have quite enough clearance for my forks. They've only really been used for the Dirty Reiver where they handled everything thrown at them.

Any interest?

Re: "Audax chat" thread

I'll be there too and looking forward to finally meeting a few people off here.

I reckon I'll be treating it as 4 different rides, making use of the control for sleeping and just seeing how it goes as it'll be pushing my limits to say the least.

Now just to work out what kit/clothes to take....

Re: Cannondale Trail SL Singlespeeed 29er Frameset, Large -

Unfortunately it's a bit far for me to pop up and take a look! I might kick myself later but I'm going to have to be sensible and give the frame a miss. Instinct still says the top tube is going to be too long for my stubby little arms - and it tends to be right! Thanks for answering my daft questio...

Hmmm bang on my size then - I'm 6' and ride 56's too.

It looks like derailleur hangers are readily available but does it have routing for the cable too? I'm not convinced how well I'd cope with a SS in the Peak District!

Re: Cannondale Trail SL Singlespeeed 29er Frameset, Large -

Ive been umming and arring all week but think it's probably too large for me looking at the geometry chart. But then I'm also more used to looking at geometry for road/cx bikes so I could be wrong.

How tall are you?

Re: Race / Summer Sleeping Bag

My partner and I have both got Hanger 18 480gm bags - https://www.h18orr.com/products/down-sleeping-bag I've slept OK (not great) in mine in a merino base layer and woke to find frost in the ground and fresh snow on the tops when camping in the lakes. My partner's completely nesh though so is sellin...

Nice to meet you too Ian. And thanks for dropping the frame off.

Hopefully I might even see you out on a ride once I've got it built up.

I live in S11 and work in S10 so if we can arrange a collection that'd be good. I'll send you a PM to arrange it.

Re: Niner scandium frame - medium

Sorry Ian - having to have a bit of a think. The wheel set I've got is 9mm QR front and rear. While I'd rather have a 15mm hub up front as it'd give me more flexibility in the future I could do without spending the extra money now. If the other fork you've got happens to be QR and have a long enough...

Well that means I've got a set of wheels that would fit then...

You mentioned you've got a set of forks that you might be able to do with it too?

Re: Shimano shoe sizing.. help!

I take a UK 9.5 in pretty much all my normal shoes. I had to size up to a 45 for Shimano MTB shoes so I'd say the CRC guide was spot on.

For reference I also have a pair of Inov-8 X-Talons (standard fit) in a UK 10/44.5 which are probably a little too snug.

I think the PD-8X's ship with a converter axle so you can use a normal 9mm QR anyway.

Mount Skidmore do their Bottle Cage Adapter. I might have one spare if I can find it - think it cost me about £8 when they were on sale a few months back.
