Re: What's the attraction of bivvy bags

How did you avoid dampness from condensation inside the bivi bag? I have yet to find a 'breathable' fabric that does not 'wet-out' in heavy rain, after which their is no vapour transfer. I get paranoid about my down bag, so usually stick up a tarp (which is as much faff as a good tent) unless I am ...

It appears hip flasks are just the beginning. If you enjoy riding more than camping, take a bivi.

+1 for Bearbones flasks, and maybe a bit smaller than your average flask for bikepacking friendliness (size + weight + need to not wake up with a sore heid). Surprised no-one's mentioned this: http://www.charliethebikemonger.com/ahearne-spaceman-hip-flask-cage--holster-and-hip-flask-option-411-p.as...

Re: 2016 Mileage Total

Some truly stunning achievements in this thread: as inspiring as I hoped it would be. So I managed 14,017km / ~8,750 miles about 45% of them off road. My trip to NZ / USA for two months was about 4,000km of those. That was a big year for me as I usually aim for around 11,000km since retiring in 2010...
