Re: What training app?
Another question for the training app users. What computer/tablet/screen are you using? This seems to be a bit of a minefield!! I'm using my wife's iPad Mini! I can't use my iPad as it's too old and it can't run the current version of the software (TrainerRoad). Each app will have its minimum requi...

Re: What are you drinking now?
Not drinking atm, but hopefully will be soon. Wifey has just found two jars of sloe gin that she made last autumn, one of which still has the berries in and smells divine.

Re: What training app?
Thanks all (or most of you ) for the helpful comments and advice. I think I'm going to trial Zwift & Sufferfest and see how I get on. I've always shied away from using an indoor bike/trainer, but I have to face it, that come winter, getting out after work in London is not great and in my c...

What training app?
As I'm due to take delivery of a Wahoo trainer bike today, I'm thinking about what app to use.
What are you using? Likes and dislikes?
TIA

Re: Wattbike Atom
Thanks Shaf, that would have been ideal but I've just splurged out on a Wahoo Kickr Bike😯 Just googled it... in the words of the Quantum Leap chap... "oh boy". amazing and hope it last you well. If anyone knows how to make a top end TT then its definitely Wahoo. Bet they've got a bi...

Re: Wattbike Atom
The Atom is either impossible to find, or very expensive 2nd hand at the moment. But then I guess there same is true for all good turbos at the moment. Personally I used a Neo2 turbo with an older bike that stays mounted and recently have got a rocker plate to test. Not convinced on the rocker plat...

Re: First bikepacking trip
Noddy question - how do I find where to camp? Should I just look for campsites in Essex and book in for the night? It all depends whether you are comfortable with wild/stealth camping. On my first trips with my sons, I just did short overnighters in the Chilterns and stealth camped at places that I...

Re: Has anyone ever totally given up...
I had big problems with WTB Rangers and Love Mud rims. I did manage to get them on eventually, but have now changed to Schwalbe G-One allrounds. The only way I could get them on was to get first bead on and then push it into the well, then mount second bead, again pushing into the well. I did then m...

Re: First bikepacking trip
Thanks for your help. Suffolk looks lovely. I don't mind if we have to travel a bit first, adds to the adventure. Although there is something to be said about just riding from the front door too. Think I would prefer the majority to be off-road. I'm in Billericay which is near to Chelmsford. Based ...

Re: First bikepacking trip
Whereabouts in Essex are you? How far do you want to ride? How much off-road?
I've done quite a few rides into Essex from NW London and might be able to make some suggestions. I wouldn't have thought it necessary to take public transport.

Re: Wattbike Atom
I've got one. Picked it up at the start of the first lockdown second hand (not at the crazy second hand prices that are around at the moment). I really like it, I use it with zwift rather than the wattbike hub. The V1 has a slight lag when powering up or down on Watts (a couple of seconds) which on...

Wattbike Atom
Anyone got one? What do you think of it?
I'm toying with the idea of getting a secondhand one for winter training and using it with Zwift or something similar.

Unfortunately it doesn't really work size-wise with the medium frame. Such a shame as it's a lovely bag.

I only bought two of them, but that's enough to know that it's not for me. Surprisingly, I found it difficult to obtain here in London where everyone rides singlespeed fixies
