Re: Highland Trail 550 - 2018
Just spoke to Mike and he is ok other than his injury. Said he was skinny-dipping and cut his foot on a razor sharp rock, pull the udder one Karl Booth is on his way to pick him up as he was in FA already. I've just finished smashing my forks to pieces and packing them into an envelope for Enve to p...

Re: Borders 350 2017 Registration Open.
I've ridden it from Samyee Ling up to the saddle between Loch Fell and Dun moss, that bit is fine. I turned South there to Dryfehead so not done the other bit to Moffat. The last bit from Moffat up to where I got to looks like it will be a steep push Think I've ridden this section you might be talk...

Re: Loaded bike weight
I can see a few items you could lose, but depends if your comfortable losing some comfort really.
I'd ditch the change of clothes, some water, and lighten up your sleeping mat, lose the pans and coffee and I love coffee!

Re: Yorkshire Winter Bivi
Just a quick weather update ground conditions are a no worse than usual at this time of year, long range forecast for next weekend is dryish with a fairly decent wind from the west and cold, like 2'c without the wind chill factor considered but if it stays like this that's a good do bring a good win...

Re: HIghland Trail 550 - 2018
Well I was wanting to enter next year but seeing as i've not completed any ITT's this year I quite rightly shouldn't be given a place, but that won't stop me from putting a cheeky entry forward failing that there is plenty of other good options to have a crack at these days and I'm really keen on do...

I've currently got Andy's Ti Speedball for testing only got around 70miles on it so far but what I can say is it's a very nice bike to ride, totally different to my Stooge Cycles 29er and looks stunning it really gets a lot of attention, I have to allow an extra 30mins on my rides to stop and natter...

Re: Going rigid? Or not
Its strange looking at all the opinions of FS Vs HT front suspension and HT rigid, I raced rigid as a young un and moved over to front suspension as it came in around the 90's probably as most folk did really. I then gave up riding for 10 years before getting a full suspension bike and dabbling in a...

Re: Stooge Mk3
For me my Ti Stooge is the fastest and most fun bike I've ever ridden it's also incredibly comfy on long rides not that I've done many this year, more down to me being out of shape, I was hoping to get to the BB200 but missed the entry date and I'm not sure the legs will spin for that distance any m...

Re: Baa Baa Bikepack - 5360km in the UK.
I've entered as it looked like a cheaper training option to the tour divide and great prep for the transcontinental. But ultimately it'll all be down to route Choice as to how good it is, it seems like they are open to route variations from local advice as well which makes sense as long as it doesn'...

Re: Calling Ti Stooge owners
Yeah it never bothers me either as generally I use a half frame bag anyway, I guess if you look at the majority of frames they just seem to have a larger seat tube maybe that gives the impression of a generally smaller space.

Re: Calling Ti Stooge owners
I do have one and it's amazing! I think Alastairmc is right with the weight it comes in around 1800 grams all the ti's are custom geometry as mine has a longer top tube than the steel model so you can tweak thinks as you need, it's biggest let down for some is frame space for frame bags but it hasn'...

Ive been riding 27.5"+ since getting the Ti stooge on the trail and haven't seen any reason to go back to 29", and my original idea is to run 29"+ up front and 27.5"+ rear i think your onto a winner, so long as you have sufficient repair equipment for these sizes no problems at a...

Re: Chinese titanium design-it-yourself Bikepacking bike any
This is the exact dilema I found myself in earlier in the year, I had triton, sonder, pact, travers, Shand, stooge and another Chinese company with a very good reputation i can't remember the name of now. In the end I went with a Stooge as I completely love the look of them and really enjoy how it r...
