Found a new home etrex handlebar mount bracket.
Bought the wrong part  Because this says etrex and looks super secure ie not held on with zip ties what could possibly go wrong? Turns out its for eTrex H, Summit, Venture, Legend, Vista series and I have got 30x. In engineering terms it is a thing of beauty. The tooling must have cost a fair ...

Re: Bar Upgrade
When I got my Jones bars because they are so huge and weird looking things I placed them over the Whammybar they were replacing. With the part gripped by the stem in the right place the Jones crossed the Whammy half way through the grips which was quite a surprise. The net effect of changing over us...

A serious suggestion - is the beach ride-able from Liverpool northwards. On google earth it looks sand up to south end of lake district but whether this would be fat bike only I dont know.

'The Sutra LTD represents the nexus of mountain bike and road bike drivetrains'.
Err that'll be a mountain bike with road gears then.

Ritchey P-29er
Anyone running 2013 edition?
General impression?
Whats max tyre size?
Anyone running rigid fork?
Does the Ritchey 135/142 conversion work on this frame and would you want to?
I am considering frames to run 27.5+ 2x11 trail and long distance path.

Try approach shoes/boots low cut Goretex to keep the water out and a good stiff sole for hiking.
Can be used with a gaiter long or short depending on weather/standing water/depth of mud.

Re: Climbing, riding and walking
I use heart rate - especially at my age. The idea is that once I get to 130 bpm time to get off and push. I can go beyond but its all to do with energy use ie use it now or keep some for later. There is no point in wiping yourself out on the first hill. Pushing is part of the ride anyway. The flat b...

Re: has bikepacking killed hiking?
No. I live at a point where NR2 and SWCP combine on the seafront given at 4m height. At each end of the seafront the hills rise to approx 170m and 1.75 miles peak to peak. The best route is SWCP although I can ride about half way up each hill without mixing with walkers. The final stage sees me on f...

Shame about Arrochar as had many a happy time up there. I used to leave car park opposite Succoth get up onto the forest road head up to Allt Coirigrogain. Dump the bike and walk up to Bealach aMhaim which was really just a bog in the sky and use that as the jumping off point for Cobbler or Beinn Im...

Re: Style or Geometry?
Thanks for your thoughts on this but just want to play devils advocate a bit. Is the Deadwood a bit of a game changer? Its 29+ with carbon forks with a change of bars it could be the crossover from GG to MTB in generic terms. There seems to be a lot of designs designated GG but the 29+ must increase...

Style or Geometry?
Anyone got any insights regarding what the difference in geometry between a ‘mountain bike’ and a ‘gravel grinder’ means? I could spend hours comparing the tables but doesn’t really mean that much to me so just wondered if the combined sum of knowledge at BB can shed some light? This is for use as a...

Just ran across this http://cyclingabout.com/2016-marin-four-corners-touring-bike/ I think it needs more thought re the beer bottle. How do you get the bottle in and out? Yet another one or is it three where they have re invented to qr? http://road.cc/content/news/156979-marin-gestalt-graveladventur...

Your in Scotland you can bivvi almost anywhere within reason.
Me I would head down to Gourock get the ferry over to Kilcreggan head up to the top Loch Long turn left after Arrochar and head into the hills.
Wonderful play ground up there think its called the Arrochar Alps.
Watch out for bears.

Simple answer is both and to that I would add vee brakes provided that: They do not howl like a banshee Start rubbing randomly and for no apparent reason You do not have to buy expensive/exotic materials to service them or pay to dispose of used items. Can be repaired in the field or at least jury-r...
