Yeah I'll vouch for you Pickers mate, you're a top scout. For a Midlander :-). Bl00dy gatecrashers :-). 11's not bad is it. We've just gone one louder ;-). With that number there'd be scope, if desired after Benp1 comes up with his SE200 mega-route ;-), for a WRT-style LHC-A (Mileage Folks) and LHC-...

Same machine today on her Pearl Jubilee, just about still alive. Sigh, I've gone all wistful now . Quick, back to the tent pegs before I go all irretrievably nostalgic....

Landmannalaugar - now that's brought back some memories. Frozen and boiled at the same time in the springs! The mudpacks didn't improve our svelte looks sadly. Our auditions for The Full Monty failed many years later. Also the world's most overloaded bike including clothes airer on the back. (1986) ...

Heh heh, thanks Stu. Right, that's a ringing endorsement from The Master in my book! I think I'll stick with the "tax avoidance" (2 nights) ploy, cos the 8pm-midnight/midnight-4am "tax evasion" scheme does seem to be taking the p1ss a bit too much even for me .

Re: Bivvy a Month 2016.
"can start in any month". Oh. As is typical for me I didn't read the small print at the bottom of the terms and conditions, and thought it was Jan-Dec. I started last January and immediately missed February which was a bit pathetic, but carried on anyway. As it happens I'm probably stuffed...

Re: SE (Chilterns) Winter Bivy - 10/11 Dec
Never sure of the etiquette of these type of threads.... Advertising a bivi spot bad plan, not sure about showing route details. As Stu says, the full communist approach doesn't work; but there's presumably room for a bit of banter and argy bargy as we home in on something over ten weeks ;-). I thin...

"Absolute brilliance " - seconded. Mine's hermetically sealed in the wardrobe. I daren't use it in case I damage it. Erm. Hence the new hyper-ziga-ultra-pico-femto-atto-zepto-yocto-condom I suppose. Hardly nuclear-fallout-proof like the Demand though of course.

"it's coming"... on edge of my seat here with leg jiggling up and down like a six year old. In time for Xmas/Winterval/CelebrationOfYourChoice (delete as desired)? That was rude of me to pressure, sorry! Cranes' JTTCOFE is probably what tipped me away from "normal" touring back i...

Hi chaps! Yep, still on for this, be nice to meet all the other SE Wimps as those people out in the sticks call us ;-). Am in Leighton B'stard meself. Pickers said he might up for coming down (up? eh?) from Alcester as an honorary South Easterner. Do we carry on with this thread to thrash ideas out ...

Thanks for the referral Chew :-). Yep it was a lot of fun. If u go to St Malo the regular ferrybus thing takes you across to Dinard and from the old railway station you're straight onto the "Voie Verte" to ancient town/city of Dinan and onwards: http://www.brittanytourism.com/discover-our-...

Re: Bivvy a Month 2016.
I think it was 10-11 Dec that Stu came up with. "Events all round the country". Sounds dodgily similar to Eurovision to me - presumably we all put our reports in and Stu awards every area between Nil (sorry, "nul") and 10 points for style, content, effort, possibly even singing.....

Had a Skeletool once, but it bit the dust in a freak mountain bike pile-up ;-). Now got Birzmann E-version multi-tool, which is like a nicer Alien2. Main thing it's got is a bottle opener :-).Has all usual allen keys, screwdriver, spoke keys, brake wedge, & v sharp knife. Only problem is weight c...

Currently riding Voies Vertes in Brittany for a week. Water setup: MYOG gaffer tape stem cell weighing about 20g plus 50cl ultralight supermarket water bottle (PS.
