Well it has arrived and although I'm 40 miles away from it for another day or so, it looks ok colour wise. Apparently it is very, very light.

Re: Bike Insurance Suggestions?
Jim's wife was talking about this last night, the AA apparently are very good, something like 10k of cover even if they are in a shed.
Might be worth looking into Rich.

Edge 1000, does everything.
If you have a hub dynamo then no worries, otherwise you will need to recharge it after 9-13 hours.

I just rode Jim Barrow's new TI Travers today. It's an amazing bike, really worth checking out. It felt very light to me and I own a pretty light Ti bike myself.

Re: Compression Sacs
Alpkit ones hole just as easily, I have had some replaced for that reason. I always line big dry bags with a bin bag. Works perfectly for me even if some people frown on it. Never had wet bags or clothes from wet tents or tarps.

I want to get my mat, quilt and tarp in the bar bag What happens on the morning of day 2 after it's been raining all night? Wet tarp close to a down bag?[/quote] I normally carry them like that. Each is in it's own waterproof bag, which I put inside a bin bag as well for double protection. Never ha...

Re: Compression Sacs
That's perfect, I want to get my mat, quilt and tarp in the bar bag, so long and thin will work perfectly. I can fill any gaps with other stuff. I quite like these - been using one for a bit. It takes my mat and sleeping bag and a few other squishy things and compresses them into a narrower diameter...

Re: Compression Sacs
Last time I did that, the bag shifted and in the ten seconds it took me to stop, the tyre went through a mudguard, alpkit bag and the brand new UK Hammocks quilt. This time I want expensive things on the bars, hence making it smaller. I need one for my new UK Hammock Quilt as currently I have to ste...

Monkii Cage
Hello, Has anybody put a monkey cage on forks that don't have mounts. Until the new super duper prototype monkii cage fitting comes out, would it work if the mounts were held on to the fork with http://www.halfords.com/cycling/bike-accessories/bike-bottle-cages/elite-water-bottle-cage-strips ? Winter Shoes
Hello, I just thought I would add that anybody who is looking for winter shoes, take a look at The Lake MXZ303's. I had thought I was going to go with a pair of North Wave boots, but couldn't get a comfortable fit as I have wide feet. In the end I found a pair of Lake's to try on and they are great....

Hey Ctzn, try one of these, it might work better than bear spray.

Re: Anybody got or used a Borah bivi bag
I will admit that John at Borah Gear, did reply back to my emailed questions very quickly, and was willing to try and speed up the delivery time, but still a few week. Also Zpacks replied, but couldn't supply any this year. I ruled the Bugaboo out as I wanted a bag sub 250g as if I don't get on with...

Re: Anybody got or used a Borah bivi bag
I've just spoken to Ti Goat and ordered the Raven Omin. The pictures on their website are of an older version, but they left them as the colour contrast shows up better. You can indeed have the bag totally open at the head end, which gives the best ventilation and claustrophobia escape. You can then...

The Ti Goat apples as it's the only one to have both a full closable hood and an insect mesh, which might make it slightly more useful. Just looking at the TiGoat website ... can't see a bag like you describe ^ or a long/wide Kestrel either? The long / wide Borah is certainly big enough for a full ...

So many good points raised. I'm going to measure the quilt with the mat and some pillows in it to try and see what works. Here is a summary of what I have found out. Re: Anybody got or used a borax bivi
I've now seen the ti goat Raven, the mld SUPERLIGHT, ZPacks™ Splash Bivy, kabatic brislenose and the oware BivyLargeLongSidezip. They all seem to be vagely similar spec and price and all have got great reviews.
