Re: MTB Wrist issue

Physio to work out the damage and the exercises you need to do to return the area to strength
Masseuse to unlock the rest of you for healthy blood flow to the afflicted area
Rest - I agree with Froggy on a splint to keep things in place when sleeping

Re: Old and New - UK Tour 2024

Smashing night out with Mike, but no little brother after he had a little lay down and is now nursing iffy hip. Great food at Kings Head in Church Stretton...dry ride up to the usual spot. Pitched up just as the first drops came down and a solid 8hrs in the pit. Slow pack...rain-free ride across the...

Re: Brakes; mechanical or hydraulic?

For me, hydraulics...all day, every day. I've SLX, XT and XTR on the 3 bikes...and they have all been excellent over the last 10 years. The XTR down the Burway this morning were as good as when I got them 7 or 8 years ago. Never had a problem with the hoses when travelling. Knock on wood this contin...

Starting out tonight with aim to go 6 nights finishing next weekend for a breather/scrub then out for a few more.
School nights out in Shrops/mid-Wales, anyone? ; )
I'd say Friday/Saturday at the Ragleth for interested parties...whichever day suits most.

Re: New Front Harness / Longer Bag?

+1 for additional velcro straps to hold things onto the bars/top of bar roll. I used to strap a drybag with Sawyer kit up there so it was easy to get to. Faffing in saddle bag for water filtration kit was a PITA.

Re: Recommend me a quilt

Was impressed with the Neve Gear Warratah quilt. It's a quilt...it can be configured to have a toe box...it has strap clips for attaching around mats...900 fill...rated for -2C...weighs in at ~480g IIRC. However, it's massive! You could turn it sideways and cover two people sleeping in down jackets....

Cheery Friday indeed...spinning up and down the Corvedale....smelling familiar smells and enjoying the familiar views. Great service at Pearce Cycles in Ludlow...pleasant and courteous drivers unlike Qld. Couldn't have asked for nicer weather for a couple of hours out on 2 wheels. Here's hoping the ...

I've been pretty slack about all this in 2024...but in last 4 weeks things are going in the right direction.
On the scales before flight yesterday at 73.0Kg. Was stuck at 74.2 for a while.

Have just stumbled across this one and it's not a bad idea. I don't see Ortlieb doing a waist pack anymore and all the rest seem to be made of materials that would wet out eventually. Some waist packs I've used in the past (I'm looking at you Batpack6!) were chronic mud catchers...I'm interested to ...

No problems with TSA over half a dozen visits. First time freaked me out the box had been opened, but I got used to their calling card inside. One trip, from Manchester to Seattle, the box had gotten a bit mashed, but the bike was ok. Could have been either way, as I've had mashed boxes coming into ...

Been trying a Pronghorn here....very stable, just like it's harder-backed cousin that I used to run. Reminds me of a Wildcat harness. I get all my front bar kit in the small PH (tent, poles, mat, gloves, down jacket and some other small odds 'n sods). Doesn't have the nice jacket elastic the sweetro...

You could always ride around it. Sprint across the flats then get into some pointy stuff. You'll be strong when you arrive. Bonus adventure.
