Re: WTD: Ragley Carnegie
Thanks, but unfortuantely I can't oblige you there. I gave away my Easton flat bars and I recently sold my Salsa Woodchippers. I only have my Midge bars left, but I need those. Shame.tommid wrote:I have a set on my Kona Ute, but I'd need a swapsie for a new bar to replace.

Good point - the riser bar does offer that flexibility of position.I run mine flipped.

Re: WTD: Ragley Carnegie
Thanks very much for the offer, but I need 31.8mm diameter and a bit more sweep than the Fleegle offers. (The Carnegie is 25-degree vs 15 of the Fleegle.) If I can't get hold of any flat Carnegie bars, I'll probably just have to buy an OG bar and live with the rise.

Re: Charge Knife?
If you like the Spoon, I'd stick with it. Finding a comfortable saddle has not been easy for me. I've tried the Charge Knife, Fizik Arione CX, Fizik Aliante and the Fizik Anatares with varying degrees of failure. The Fizik Kurve Chameleon is definitely the most comfortable I have yet found, but that...

Re: Suggest a CX rim
Can the iron cross be used with rim brakes? Apologies, I didn't see the rim-brake requirement. That being the case, you might want to consider H Plus Son Archetype. I run them on my road winter bike and I do know they are popular for CX. Edit: The thoughts of one wheel builder about Pacenti SL23, H...

Re: Suggest a CX rim
You might want to have a look at Stan's Iron Cross.
My brother in-law has them on his CX and they've been impressive. They have stood up well to rides in The Lakes as well as less rocky stuff in the North and South Downs.

Re: Rolls like a Race King but sets up tubeless?
I love Race Kings and will happily use them all year round but for love nor money can I get the things (folding version) to set up tubeless, the sidewalls are just too porus and no amount of sealent will stop them leaking. Have you tried the ProTection version? It has an additional belt within the ...

Re: FS: Shimano Ultegra Left Crank Arm
That would be a very sensible explanation...sadly though, it is not the case. I picked up a new Ultegra crankset on behalf of a friend...and then, owing to a series of highly improbable events and a snafu on my part, had to buy a new replacement left crank arm for it at very short notice. I then sub...

Re: Cycling highlight of the year
I've been lucky to have enjoyed several special rides this year, but the highlight was La Marmotte. In the early morning light, the white clouds rising like steam from the Glandon was a truly incredible sight. A ride that will never be forgotten.

WTD: Jones Loop H-bar
I'm after a Jones loop H-bar.
It needs to be black and 660mm wide max.
I know it's a bit of a long shot, but if anyone has such a bar that is surplus to requirements, please let me know.
Thanks.
Simon.

Re: Flat pedals
I'm ceratinly no expert on riding flat pedals, but my understanding is that to get the best out of them you need to wear shoes with a soft and flat sole - as per the classic Five-Ten Freerider (that's the principle, obviously not a specific shoe recommendation for Rovaniemi!)
