My missus is away & I want to go away...

Anyone fancy a trip this weekend to either Wales or the Peaks?!

I have itchy feet to go do something from Saturday AM to Sunday PM or Monday AM!

Re: Kendal - Anyone live there

Thanks guys, Really struggling with a decision but just thinking about fell running, mountain biking, skiing in scotland / being close to Scotland etc etc just makes me think I am an idiot for even thinking twice about this! Just typing this makes think 'just do it'. Will have a think anyway and let...

Kendal - Anyone live there

Random I know... I have the opportunity to move from Cambridge to Kendal... Anyone on the forum live there and could offer some advice... Kendal seems like a nice place, and it's close to the mountains and living close to the Lakes / Yorkshire Dales has always been appealing but kind of a scary move...

Re: GR5 - Anyone done it?

Thanks guys, After researching it's definitely too much for a week. The elevation is nuts! There also seems to be lots of sections in NPs you need to skirt around too which would be major hassle / mean lots of research which I don't really have the time to do right now. Been looking at the JoeRoute ...

GR5 - Anyone done it?

Got a week of time in early September and half tempted to try and ride from Geneva to Nice via the GR5...

Might be biting off far more than I can chew - anyone done any of this or got any information on the route?

Would travel light and bivi/stay at refuges.

Thanks,

N

Bivi Near Buxton

Hi there,

At a wedding in Buxton over the weekend and would like to bivi if the weather is kind.

Can anyone recommend anywhere suitable that isn't too far from the center?

Ideally would walk out.

Thanks,

Re: Decent Outdoor Camera Recommendations

Thanks for the advice...

Not sure of budget but don't really want to spend more than 150/200... My Iphone 4 is OK but not as good as the newer ones.

Would be nice to have something that does wideangle as well as regular... not sure if this exists! Showing how little I know about cameras now!

Winter Trip

I have 3 weeks off in January and would like to do a winter trip. I was half thinking of heading to South Africa to try and ride the Spine of the Dragon or maybe a portion from Cape Town towards Port Elizabeth. http://dragontrax.co.za/spine-of-the-dragon/ Has anyone ever done something like this? MTB Routes Around Snowdonia

Hi there, Adhoc trip to Coed y'Brenin planned for next weekend and I am really keen to do a big loop around Snowdonia. Does anyone have any decent gpx files of routes that they might have done previously or could anyone point me in the direction of where I might find some good stuff. So it's just Rh...

Re: Lakeland 200

Cheers guys, Some brilliant advice in here and exactly what I require. Not done any real mountain biking in the Lake District (apart from Whinlatter which I know won't be comparable) but done some serious walking so have some idea of what to expect. I don't plan on biting off more than I can chew, a...

Lakeland 200

Hi there, Thinking of giving this route a go the weekend after next if the weather is OK. Aim would be to do it over two days & stay in a hostel. Just bring change of clothes, wallet, lights etc Is most of it ride able or would you expect a lot of it to be a quackmire if the weather is bad? Both...

Re: Help me build a bike packing bike please!!!

By soft luggage do you mean the strap on bike bags?

I used the AlpKit kit bags for Welsh coast to coast, but this would limit me in what I need to take!

I was even thinking something like this... (from a blog I was following)
