Re: Getting started....

That was me on the BB200. Bike rode well after a few initial problems that I sorted before the BB200. The bike completed the BB200 in 23hrs 3 mins so definitely good enough for bikepacking :-)

Cheers

Re: Bearbones 200 The video

Hi Dave, I have to say a big thanks for being my echo of frustration. It was good to ride with someone with a common passion for having a severe dislike towards the route at 4 in the morning and a stubbornness to carry on regardless. I'm glad you pushed on as I just didn't have the legs and felt I w...

Re: BB200 2014 - congratulations and thank you

During the ride/walk I repeatly said to myself how stupid all the hike-a-bike and bog trotting. Some of the GPS mapping was a little difficult to follow in places. I struggled with riding up the hills late into the night so decided to literally just push on. But at the end on the road down to the fi...

Carl Booth 9.03 Not sure I'm ever going to recover from that. I'm officially proper broken. Well done to wotsit, that is some resolve to be out there that long and plugging away. Think that deserves a black badge. Congratulations to everyone who turned up and had a go, I don't think anyone was expe...

Will this number also be useful for verbal abuse @ 2am in some boggy marshland? Or do we have to wait untill (if) we get back?

Re: This years BB200 / Next years HT550

Excellent news :-) Wanted to do that but had a feeling I wouldn't be accepted for the mass start date. Means I can choose a better time of the year to do the Lakeland 200.

Hopefully everything will go to plan :-)

Re: BB200 - 2 Weeks to Go

It's very easy to slip into that negative faze. I went out Saturday and completed my longest ever ride (150km) till next week. The first few hours were great, it was about 7 hours in when I had my low point (only slight low). The km's were taking ages at that time because I'd started climbing again ...

Re: Map for BB200 - What format?

I've pretty much got the same settings. I've been using the garmin like this for a few weeks and found it quite simple. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something which could help in the dead of the night.

Thanks again guys for your helpful input. Really looking forward to this one.

Map for BB200 - What format?

Not had my GPS long so still getting us to it (Garmin Dakota 20). When the route gets sent on the 8th Oct will it be a route or track gpx file? The second question on answering the first, what will be the best way to follow the route? Is there settings which will light up the screen at turnings in t...

Re: Solar Storm Run Time?

I've bought one of these battery packs, it came swiftly and does improve the run time considerably. Couldn't say how long it lasts, but was well in excess of 4 hours on high setting so low setting could be a lot. I'm using 2 packs for the BB200 so can let you know after that if you can wait a week b...
