Re: Full suspender riders...

Salsa Spearfish rider here. Bit heavier than my Specialized Camber but it's a lot faster. Climbs like a hardtail with a bit more compliance, descends like 150mm trail bike. If it's not obvious, I love it. FLV IF you want to try it out after lockdown give me a shout. https://i.imgur.com/p7Y14gc.jpg

everyone is guilty until they can prove their innocence I dont think every rider is guilty - why would anyone think that? the reality is one is,probably, and we dont know which one[ except the person who came last cannot be it ] and we never will , the rest is just speculation. Boxelder/Mike, the creak that comes from the rear shock flip chip Salsa have made an upgraded part but as Boxelder said loctite works just as well.

It's a great bike at an impressive price :-bd

Re: Face Masks.

Just asked one of the leading UK scientist on Corona virus (also known as the wife). Face masks are generally only required for people who are infected or in close contact to infected people. Only surgical masks required as transmission is likely to be droplet. Anyway that's all I'm saying. Let's ge...

Re: Jay Petervary : Bikepacking's Bad Boy or Ambassador ?

Really enjoyed the podcast. It's great to get an (biased) insight into the person and the tour divide controversy. He's a great rider, can't take that away from him. Lael's podcast in 2 episodes earlier. I will say that JP has had a career for many years doing this brand ambassador gig so that must ...

Gairy, how about doing it a different way. Let's say you need to complete BAM, if you fail you wear a tutu/mankini out on New Years Eve? You could also donate double to charity If you fail - double whammy!

Re: Highland Trail 550 - 2020

There's no way I'd be physically able to do the HT550 as it stands, so a three year plan sounds like a good idea. Plus it would give me time to save up and by a suitable bike too. It's right to not underestimate the route but also don't underestimate what you can achieve. I went from no bikepacking...

Re: Highland Trail 550 - 2020

Alan use to class the Lakeland 200 as an automatic qualifier so day (ish) rides can be a suitable method of proving your grit as it be (fitness is only part of it). The Borders 350 has got to be up there as a route tough enough as a qualifier. I think if you show Alan that you like challenging and p...

I got it for £150 from a Wiggle sale.

As Shafiq said, It's the OMM Aether jacket. Really impressed with it so far. Nice and light, breathes well and so far keeps me dry. Better than my Berghaus see through condom.

Re: Pre Winter Peaks Bivy (Nov)?

That's fine with me. And we are going down bradwell edge. Not as bad as it use to be, it's been sanitised over the last few years.

Happy to make changes to the route and we can definately be flexible whilst we're out riding. Lots of options out there. :-bd

Re: Pre Winter Peaks Bivy (Nov)?

Right so I've come up with a couple of options. Intending to do most of the riding on the Sunday and just have a short 30 minutes or so on Monday morning (although I can make some suggestions if some folk want to ride further). Option 1 has quite a lot of technical riding and is a bit further. https...

Right me and Shafiq have decide on Sunday 24th to Monday 25th Nov. If you can get me the dimension that would be great.

Think I have some flexible filament lying around which would probably be quite good. I'll do a trial run using basic PLA first.

Colin, I've doodled this up - what do you think? It would be mounted with 3 x M4 cap heads and encapsulated M4 nuts (the nice bit of 3D printing). I've based it around a 25mm dropper post diameter (easily change the diameter). Strap area is 57mm approx. https://i.imgur.com/jZkh8jW.jpg I'll print one...
