Re: HOW MUCH!!
"Even the best lubricated chain in perfect laboratory conditions still generates about 4W of frictional losses from the start." Cheapest solution....don't use lube! :-bd  Seriously though, that's eye watering. If I got that I think I'd produce more power trying to prove it was a worth...

Re: Stupid ideas you can't shake.
Flicking through the list I must be stupid because they all just seem like great ideas. My sensible ideas (head plans) are the following: Tour Divide Iditarod Trail Invitation Colorada Trail Fatbike North to South of Greenland Crossing the Baring Straits on Fatbike/Packraft Actually most of th...

If you don't mind it being a (fair) bit longer I'd be tempted to go towards hayfield from hadfield then take in Jacobs ladder, Jaggers Clough, The Beast then Cutgate....just like you didn't want

Re: Looking ahead - what are you looking forward to?
What dreams are keeping you going at the moment? Actually talking of Karl, I'd really like to go riding in the Peaks with him showing me (or us) round, we'd sort of touched on it before but never got as far as doing anything about it. Looks like I've got something to look forward to now! So when lo...

Reg I tried to copy your idea but it just wouldn't come out like the authentic original. Don't let customs and excise know, they'll pull all my filament so I can't produce anymore fakes
Reg's bottle cage - original and best.

Re: Suspension Fork Bottle Cage Mount
I use Solidworks, very expensive but it's for my everyday work so needs must.
I've tried to use Fusion 360 a while back and it just doesn't flow for me. Think it's the age old can't teach an old dog new tricks (or it might just be not very user friendly).

Re: Suspension Fork Bottle Cage Mount
Very interesting, and nicely done I've not really delved into 3D printing, so only have a passing familiarity with it. I thought that printed components were relatively fragile, and not necessarily suitable for high load applications ( such as resisting the forces imposed by upwards of half a litre...

Suspension Fork Bottle Cage Mount
Been making things on the printer and decided one of the areas I want to improve was water storage on the full susser. I have a frame bag which I don't use at the moment due to carrying my water in bottle cages and don't fancy carrying a hydration sack/rucksack. Fast forward to my new suspension for...

Re: A bigger Valais?
For the Valais they'll be no charge. If you want just drop some pennies to Stu and Dee to keep the forum going. Send me your dropper post diameter (currently the design is for 25mm but can adjust). Current length is 70mm, Sean cut his down so if you have a preference for a different length let me kn...

Re: A bigger Valais?
I know this thread is from a while back but thought I'd give an update. I modeled something similar but longer to the valais ,had to measure my dropper posts, along with input from Colin. Totally forgot to do anything with it until Sean got in touch. So sent him the model so his friend could print h...

Re: Pro cyclists bikepacking
Continuing with what Phil said about my highland trail last year. I carried very minimalist kit, including cumulus 150 quilt. Weather dropped to about -7 on the second night after 2 days of rain, I can assure you my kit choice was wrong. I got up at 2am as I was very cold and decided to start riding...
