Re: Do I want a...
Can you hire one? I did and it made me buy one. I love mine but as a complement to my bike collection rather than a 1 bike to do all. The bike I am struggling with more is my gravel bike. It literally ticks every box except the one that tugs on my heart strings! But that is another story/for another...

Re: Are gravel bikes ....
I think maybe because 'gravel' covers so many things a gravel bike is good option to stock too. Reading this review: https://advntr.cc/cipollini-mcm-allroad/ Just the opening bit about how gravel can appeal in different ways etc. I am thinking like an early 90s MTB that did 'everything' as in you'd ...

Re: One bike only?
2 HTs: 1 larger frame with 100mm forks for mile munching. The other is smaller, more travel, slacker and for playing about on. 2 road bikes: 1 is a proper race bike, the other is a decent all round road bike. Fat bike: just because... Tempted with a 'gravel bike' purely as it would suit much of what...

Re: In the shops next week I believe.
Overall an interesting mag. I get the comments about the writing though. I guess ideally you would like fresh eyes on the subject, rather a road or MTB focused journo being asked to try it out (which it felt like imho). Not sure I was the target market in terms of looking for a new scene or niche to...

Ribble CGR anyone?
Any CGR owners here on BB?
Particularly interested in the 725 version after seeing it at the London Bike Show last week.

Certainly (sadly?) I am. Especially to brands that I have good experiences / dealings with.
Surly and Cotic in terms of bikes spring to mind.

Re: karate monkey info required
I have certainly seen a few KMs on insta and MTBR forum with Jones bars and the owners seem happy enough. I think there are a few youtube videos with guys building up KMs which should cover the gnot boost spacing and Jones bars set up if you find that sort of thing helpful. Mine is the older version...

Re: Steel 29er choices
I have both Solaris (multiple) and a Sherpa. The Sherpa is more fun than the older ‘solari’ but the longshot geo knocks all that into a cocket hat. The new SolarisMAX is a confidence inspiring (and comfortable) ride. My bikepacking bike is a mk1 SolarisMAX (old geo) bought and built for its express...

Re: Anyone with a Pugsley?
With the chain on the granny and smallest sprocket it isn't sagging onto the chainstay. There is just enough tension to keep it tight- but only just. Indeed that is one of the ways I calculate the chain length. Stick it on small x small and make sure it is just held tight. Thanks Hamish. My chain i...

That was my thought but I only noticed once I'd had the back wheel out for a tube change.Pirahna wrote:The chain is too long.

Re: Anyone with a Pugsley?
Maybe you can help.
When in the granny ring, how far down the block can you go without the chain sagging onto the chainstay?

It is a choice, split tube or sealing with tape/foam padding.

Coastkid videos are useful on the split tube option.
