Re: BareBones Fatfighters - The weigh in
I saw that one on the telly (ITV500 or something) it looked good. I've gone in a belt notch! Keep forgetting to weigh myself though! Does anybody go to the gym? I got a subscription for christmas and it's got a swimming pool and machines. I like the running machines but I'm scared of being shot off ...

Ah seems about normal for this sort of thing! :-bd Bird hide in question is this btw http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/5168630 It's visited a *lot* by birdwatchers though and is about 2 mins down a path from a tarmac'd farm access road which is also one of the busiest routes into the Pentlands. Well ...

Sadly I've just missed a good stooshie about someone "bothying" in in a birdwatching hide, in the Bike'n'bivi group
I'm gutted I missed it as I know exactly where he'd been.

Slightly off topic - what ever happened to the Troutie lights? I only really heard about them after they stopped being a thing... Chris has a full time job, this was a sidline that he wanted to take further but he didn't as he couldn't compete against the cheap Chinese lights coming in. Ah I ...

Great for you :D
I'm just going into the 2nd year of an Open University course in a field I'm actually interested in, had to cut the work hours back a bit but fingers crossed I'll get a job that lets me get out on the hills full time at the end of it!

Re: When you're not sure if it's a spoof....
Can't people just be happy that other people are enjoying themselves? Level of cynicism that is erupting because "our thing" is becoming popular is quite disturbing. As with Rich, nice film I enjoyed it. A very good point! I wrote about 5 replies and deleted them but still cant quite nail...

Re: off topic: anyone here into trail running?
Seems the lack of kit appeals to us all then. lets face it, no matter how light or minimal we ride it can still be alot of kit to deal with. More of an issue if time is short. The "fastpacking" idea I like, though its probably another sales term its still all the ideals bikepacking has of...

There's a slightly cheesy article in the current 'Scotland Outdoors' about fastpacking where the writer runs, bivvies and runs back again. Just with a rucsac apparently! (and a photographer ofc)

They were hipsters though! London ones too  Couldn't help noticing the outdoor fire at Kervaig directly onto the grass :???: and they'd packed dried figs... That said it did look great fun and they seemed nice blokes. No sign of any giant wheels of cheese or entire bottles of whisky in squash...
