Brutal climb that not helped by doing it as the last climb. I did clear it but did also stop for a rest about half way upMainly the 25% climb that comes soon after entering Huddersfield and also features on the NorthPeaks100

Hydraulic . More power and never had a seal issue when in use. Will bleed them before a big long (multi day) ride. That said my road bike were done about 4000 miles ago and are still fine my mtb is 2500 on new brakes without service. Cable is simpler (but its less power*) and potentially trail servi...

Yes we have all done thatAfter stripping it all back, epoxy-ed in a section of broom handle to fill in the gap.
Will look out for yiu at rtts... Doing the double again. ( assuming weather plays along as wind nearly killed me last year)

Agree with that get a gravel bike and you can use skinny tyrsmes or wider tyres as you see fit.
Probably better with a more roadie gearing if that is what he will mainly do

They take out bacteria but not viruses (but rarely an issue in the Uk) I use running water generally Short answer it depends as the toxin may be in the algae or the water. The former it will filter the later it wont ( i would avoid and if i had to do it i would choose before sunrise and boil it)

Water to go works well assuming you can fill the bottle ( needs a decent depth of water) Older bottles (not sure if fixed) are quite rigid and you cannot really squeeze water out for say a brew or some such just suck to drink.
